Rally not enough for Plymouth at Wawasee
Plymouth made the long trip to Wawasee on Wednesday night in a varsity-only Northern Lakes Conference battle.
The Lady Pilgrims plated three runs in the top of the sixth, but it proved too little, too late as the host Warriors handed their guests an 8-3 defeat.
The first inning was defensively focused as each team remained scoreless, but Wawasee broke through in the second when Kylee Rostochank singled to left, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt, and scored on a deep RBI double from Ashlynn Fisher.

Plymouth’s boys track team earned a split in a three-way Northern Lakes Conference meet on the Pilgrims’ home track Monday.

Tough loss on the road for Pilgrims

April 23, 2013

PLYMOUTH — It was the best of games, it was the worst of games, and in the end it was a loss for Plymouth’s Pilgrims on the road at Goshen, 6-5.
Getting up early the Pilgrims looked to build even more on the momentum they began to build with two big come-from-behind wins, but couldn’t hold on and suffered a come-from-behind loss.
“You get up four-oh and they got back in it,” said Plymouth coach Ryan Wolfe. “And we didn’t do what we had to do to close it out tonight.”

Lady Pilgrims earn 1st NLC win in thriller with Goshen

April 23, 2013

PLYMOUTH — Plymouth got on top early, then battled back and forth with Goshen for the Lady Pilgrims’ first Northern Lakes Conference win in a thriller at home in Centennial Park Monday.
Plymouth entered the sixth inning trailing 4-3, but Morgan O’Neal’s two-out, two-run inside-the-park homer pushed the Pilgrims into the lead, freshman reliever Haley Brown got the save with the Goshen go-ahead on second in the top of the seventh, and the home team held on for the 5-4 NLC win.

Pilgrims come back for win vs LaPorte

April 22, 2013

PLYMOUTH — Plymouth’s Pilgrims made it two in a row, taking a home win on Saturday afternoon over the LaPorte Slicers by an 8-5 final.
Not as dramatic as the Pilgrim’s bottom of the seventh comeback over Warsaw on Friday, it was a come from behind nonetheless as Plymouth starter Levi Schuler and reliever Jacob Frantz surrendered five to the Slicers in innings two, three and four. A Plymouth fifth inning explosion plated five, and then it was all Braydon Davidson.
