Discussion among members of Culver's town council regarding last week's local election results ranged from praise for departing fellow members and Culver's clerk treasurer, who will be replaced starting in January, to decrying the controversial approach taken to political campaigning here during recent weeks.

PLYMOUTH â€” The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety voted unanimously to move paramedic Erik Cox to full-time status with the Plymouth Department. Seeking the status change was Fire Chief Andy Metsker, who said Coxâ€™s record of service has been well documented and there have been continual updates during his time with the department.
Cox was hired in February of this year; but had been volunteering in the Department since 2003.

MISHAWAKA â€”Â Faye D. Watson, 105, of West Broadway, Mishawaka, died Tuesday at Millerâ€™s Merry Manor, New Carlisle.
Surviving is her daughter, Linda Watson of Newark, Del.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with burial at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Bubb Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka is assisting the family with the arrangements.

PLYMOUTH â€”Â Earl Gerald Weidner, 82, a lifelong Marshall County resident, died at 6:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, in Atria Tanglewood Trace Assisted Living, Mishawaka.
Born in Argos, July 27, 1929, Earl was the son of Charles Henry and Clara Hartman Weidner.
He graduated from Argos High School with the class of 1947, and served as a sergeant in the Army in the Korean War.
June 6, 1953, in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Plymouth, Earl and Lois Jean Umbaugh were married.

BREMEN â€”Â Bethel Myrtle Huber, 89, of Bremen passed away Monday, Nov. 14, 2011 at the Hospice House of South Bend. She was born Aug. 1, 1922 in Bremen to John and Inez (Frenger) Edel. Nov. 8, 1941 she married Kenneth Huber, he preceded her in death Dec. 2, 2010.
Bethel graduated from Bremen High School in 1940 and went on to cook for the Bremen Schools for many years. She attended Bremen First United Church of Christ. She loved her family and enjoyed attending her grandchildrenâ€™s sporting events and school functions.
