The Culver community's remarkable rallying around the Reinhold family in recent months was largely the result of the efforts of Culver Elementary 6th grader Reilly Reinhold's initial fund-raising project for the ALS Association of Indianapolis last fall. Last week, representatives of that organization made the trek from Indianapolis to Culver to surprise Reilly with recognition of, and appreciation for her efforts.

Frazier, 79, died Friday, March 2, 2012 at his home.Â Survivors include three sons, Gene (Terri) Frazier of North Judson, Ray (Goldie) Frazier of Grovertown and Ollie (Kathy) Frazier of Walkerton; two daughters, Linda (Leonard) Fugate of Knox and Brenda (David) Jesuit of Grovertown; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.Â

SHELBYVILLE â€”Â Mary C. Rinehart, 88, of Shelbyville passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Ashford Place Health Campus.
Born May 11, 1923, in Plymouth, she was the daughter of Samuel and Edna (Switzer) Baker.Â She married Richard W. â€śDickâ€ť Rinehart Aug. 15, 1950, and he preceded her in death Jan. 27, 2002.

GRANGER â€” Hershel G. Smith, 74, of Granger, passed away at 1 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Hospice House, South Bend. He was born Feb. 7, 1938 in Riverton, Ala. to George and Ruth (Sharp) Smith. Oct. 15, 1972 in Plymouth, he married Leotta K. Atkins.
Bremenâ€™s Jacob Box put up a game-high 20 points as the Lions ended their season with a 63-47 loss to the host Warriors at the Class 2A Westview Sectional championship Saturday. Box put up a combined 45 points in three games at the tourney for Bremen.
Plymouth grad Jessica Centa was named to the Michiana Intercollegiate Athletic Association All-Conference basketball team last week for Saint Maryâ€™s.
Centa led all players in the MIAA in her final season in offensive rebounds while finishing second in free throw percentage.
BOURBON â€” The mention of the inbound play that produced Clay Yeoâ€™s sectional final-winning shot brought a smile to the Triton boys basketball starâ€™s face.
â€śI was arguing with (head) coach (Jason) Groves about what play to run,â€ť Yeo, who fired in a game-high 30 points, said. â€śI guess he was right.â€ť
TOPEKA â€” Bremen came on strong at the end of the year, but not strong enough to hold off defending sectional champion Westview on its home floor.
After a 16-15 first quarter start, the Lions fell behind at the 5:32 mark of the second quarter and never recovered the lead as the host Warriors dispatched Bremen 63-47 for a repeat Sectional 35 crown Saturday.
Westview advances to the North Judson Regional next Saturday, when the Warriors play the winner of tonightâ€™s South Adams Sectional championship between Adams Central and Fort Wayne Luers.
