Argos breaks skid
Argos' girls snapped a two-game skid with a 42-16 home win over Caston Tuesday.
Jami Patterson finished with a game-high 12 points, and Libby Moyer chipped in 10 in the winning effort.
Caston was led by Adrienne Frye's and Jessica Showley's five points each.
The Lady Dragons improve to 7-3 and will host the Winter Classic Dec. 27 and 29.

At approximately 9:15 p.m., Knox City Police were called to CVS Pharmacy on U.S. 35 after two men robbed the Knox store.
The suspects fled the scene, leading police on a chase that ended just north of S.R. 8 on Upas Road, where the robbers ditched their vehicle. The vehicle was located in a driveway at a residence near the Marshall/Starke County line.
More information is expected to be released later today.
Police arrested one of the suspects in Marshall County.

BOURBON â€”Â James E. Sommer, 84 of Bourbon passed away Monday, Dec. 19, 2011 at 3 a.m. at home in the care of his family and Hospice.
Jim was born the son of Lester I. Sommer and Barbara Stauffer Sommer Nov. 27, 1927 at Ft. Wayne. He was a resident of the Bourbon and Etna Green area all his life. He was a 1945 graduate of Leo High School. He also was owner of Bourbon Plumbing and Heating for many years, served in the United States Air Force during World War II and attended the Philadelphia Church of God of Elkhart.
Dr. Neil Van Der Kolk

HOBART â€”Â Dr. Neil Van Der Kolk, known as Dr. V., passed away Dec. 17, 2011, following a long battle with asbestosis. Neil was a devoted Christian, husband, father, educator, and friend. He was a man of compassion, generosity and integrity. He began his journey in Gary, Oct. 30, 1937, as the son of Clarence and Marion Van Der Kolk.

PLYMOUTH â€”Â With the application date for applying for inclusion in the School of Inquiry at Plymouth High School only weeks away, Director Ken Olson is busy getting the word out.
Officially, the first day for submitting an application for incoming freshman for the 2012-13 school year is Jan. 3. Applications are expected to be considered until Jan. 15-16.
â€śThe first 50 students to enroll will be guaranteed a spot,â€ť Olson said. â€śIf there are more than 100, a lottery system will determine those that will be accepted in the maximum of 100 students.â€ť
PLYMOUTH â€” This Christmas marks the second year that John Glenn basketball players have teamed up with younger students for a little holiday shopping.
â€śItâ€™s hard to explain the smile on these kidâ€™s faces,â€ť said assistant basketball coach Ryan Reese. â€śThey are so excited. (The players) are role models to them and they look up to them.â€ť

MUNCIE â€” For the second year in a row, Ball State senior point guard Randy Davis has been named one of 59 candidates for the 2012 Bob Cousy Collegiate Point Guard of the Year Award, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. announced Monday. The annual honor, named for Hall of Famer and former Boston Celtic Bob Cousy, recognizes the top point guards in college basketball.
