VICKSBURG, Mich. â€”Â John Paul Lamaster Sr., 56, of Vicksburg, Mich., formerly of Bourbon died at 12:04 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Bronson Methodist Hospital.
John was born Nov. 22, 1955, in Warsaw to Lloyd and Lavon (Rupe) Lamaster.
MARSHALL COUNTY â€”Â An Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect for all of Marshall County through Saturday. Temperatures are expected to exceed 100 degrees today and may exceed 105 degrees in some locations Friday. A combination of heat and humidity will push afternoon heat index values into the 105 to 115 degree range.
PLYMOUTH â€”Â There will be a â€śRun Morgan Runâ€ť 5K run/ walk Saturday, July 14 at 8 a.m. in the Plymouth High School parking lot at the entrance to the track.
Suggested donation to join the event is $25 with all proceeds going to offset the cost of Morgan Ucenyâ€™s familyâ€™s expenses as they travel to the 2012 Olympics to watch her compete in the womenâ€™s 1500-meter run.
The 5k will also feature competitions on the Plymouth track racing against Ucenyâ€™s Olympic Trials-winning time, plus a banner to sign sending her congratulations and good luck wishes.

NAPPANEE â€”Â Chester F Mast, 81, of Nappanee, died Tuesday, July 3, at 12:05 a.m. at his residence from a long illness.
He is survived by a daughter, Patty Britt of Nappanee; son, Chester Allen (Ginger) Mast of Bremen; six grandchildren; brothers, Elmer Mast of Mishawaka, Ervin (Lois) Mast of Berne, and sisters, Laura Lawson of Niles, Mich., and Verna Newton of Elkhart.
Visitation is Friday, July 6, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home in Nappanee from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the 2 p.m. service Saturday, also at the funeral home.

BREMEN â€”Â Charlene K. Hampe, 83, of Bremen, passed away Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center of Mishawaka. She was born in Chicago, Ill. to Frederick and Mary (Saar) Kestner Jan. 17, 1929. She married George A. Hampe Feb. 25, 1950.
Charlene enjoyed taking care of her family as a homemaker. She loved to see her three great-granddaughters, Taylor, Ella and Georgia, as often as possible. They were her pride and joy. She was also a member of the First United Church of Christ.

DONALDSON â€”Â Sister Bertram Boeving, PHJC, 83, of Donaldson died July 2, 2012 at Catherine Kasper Life Center, Donaldson of natural causes.
She is survived by a sister, Sister Wilma Boeving, PHJC of Donaldson.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 4, 2012 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Catherine Kasper Home chapel, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Funeral will be Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 11:15 a.m. at Catherine Kasper Home Chapel. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Donaldson.

PLYMOUTH â€” Louise Ethel Gifford Kelley, 89, a Plymouth resident since 2007, passed away at 2:40 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2012 in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth. She had previously lived in the state of Massachusetts, Hobart; Merrillville; Gary and Culver.
The daughter of Thomas Albert and Edna Jerome Myrick Gifford, Louise was born March 12, 1923 in Acushnet, Mass. She was a 1941 graduate of New Bedford High School in Massachusetts. She had furthered her education by taking courses in Bookkeeping.
Indian lore and two local authors will take center stage at the Antiquarian and Historical Society of Culver's annual meeting Saturday, July 7, starting at 10 a.m., in the large meeting room of the Culver Public Library.
MARSHALL CO. â€” An excessive heat warning is in effect from noon today until 8 p.m. Saturday, July 7 for Marshall County. Temps will be in the 90s.
Temperatures will be in the middle to upper 90's and highs of 100 are possible for Thursday and Friday. The heat index will peak around 100 degrees each afternoon and even as high as 105 to 110 Thursday and Friday.
Take extra precaution if you must be outside.
MARSHALL CO. â€” The county-wide burn ban first put in place nearly a month ago and revised to specifically prohibit fireworks last week will remain in effect for Independence Day festivities this Wednesday, said Marshall County commissioners Monday morning in their regularly scheduled meeting.
