Entrepreneur hits roadblock in plan

May 7, 2012

PLYMOUTH — Bryan Naylor, of Plymouth, thinks that his property at 12498 Maple Road would be the perfect location for weddings, parties, and other events. He would like to build a barn on the property and rent it out to interested groups.
“I basically just want to put up a finished barn out there and give something to our community that we don’t really have around here — a place to hold an event in a rural setting,” said Naylor in an interview Friday. “It’s my understanding that there is a need for this type of thing.”
He added that the endeavor may boost local economy.

Plymouth takes second at home baseball tourney

May 7, 2012

PLYMOUTH — It was a case of Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde for the Plymouth Pilgrim baseball team in its own invitational tournament on Saturday.
The Pilgrims played well in a 7-5 victory in the first game of the day versus the Penn Kingsmen but after a long lay-off between games they seemed to lose focus and lost in the championship game to Crown Point 14-2.
PLYMOUTH 7, PENN 5
Joe Dragani made the best of his second varsity start on the mound Saturday against Penn.

Pilgrims rally past Minutemen

May 4, 2012

PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth Pilgrims have found some interesting ways to win game at home this season, and Friday’s contest with the Concord Minutemen was no exception.
This time, however, it wasn’t a new way to win.
In a situation eerily similar to last Friday’s 5-4 victory over the NorthWood Panthers, the Pilgrims used a pick-off attempt to score the winning run in a 6-5 Northern Lakes Conference victory at Bill Nixon Field.
