LaVille School Board gets technology update

PLYMOUTH — The Marshall County Economic Development Corp. ended the search for an executive director by naming Jerry Chavez to the position.

He will start in early April.

St. Joseph Medical Center doctor missing in Colorado

MISHAWAKA – Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) asks for the community's prayers for one of its physicians and his family.

While hiking near Vail, Colo., on Friday morning, Dr. James McGrogan was separated from his companions after he decided to continue on during a break and has not been seen since. Crews from several agencies are searching for McGrogan.

McGrogan joined the SJRMC Medical Staff in February as a partner of Valley Emergency Physicians.

ANGLETON, Texas — Dorothy Irene Cox, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at the Cypress Woods Care Center in Angleton, Texas. Dorothy was born on Oct. 8, 1919 to Lowell Masters and Addie Masters in Plymouth. She graduated from Plymouth High School, and married Tom Eugene Ferguson in December 1942. After 22 years of service she retired from United Technologies, Inc. Several years after her retirement, Dorothy relocated to the Houston Clear Lake Area in 1982, and then to Lake Jackson, in 1987.

Quissell qualifies for state gymnastics meet

Two Lady Pilgrim gymnasts competed in the Huntington North Regional Friday night. Senior Nicole Davis and junior Cassi Quissell earned their spots in the regional field by qualifying at sectionals last weekend. 

Culver falls in OT regional heartbreaker

BOURBON — In games as close as Culver Community’s regional showdown with North White, outcomes are decided in inches.
Alex Graham’s missed corner 3 was tipped once, twice, three times towards the rim in a hopper underneath the Culver basket, but the ball ultimately rattled out in a heartbreaking 70-69 overtime loss for the Cavaliers.
The Vikings eventually lost out in the Triton Regional championship to Marquette Catholic 79-49.

INDOT announces US 31 South Bend closings for Tuesday

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces periodic 15 minute complete closures of U.S. 31, between Kern Road and Jackson Road in South Bend, Tuesday, March 18 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
