PLYMOUTH â Hildegard L. Babendrager, 88, passed away on Friday morning, Aug. 15, 2014. She died peacefully of natural causes in the continual care of her family and the Center for Hospice Care.Â
Hildegard was born on Feb. 3, 1926 in Germany to the late Erich and Frieda (Lange) Dumke. On Dec. 24, 1946 in Germany, she married Heinz Babendrager. He passed away July 17, 1994.

ELKHART â Florence Edna Heiman, 89, of Plymouth, passed away at 9:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014 at Eastlake Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on Oct. 18, 1924 in Plymouth to the late Robert R. and Florence E. (Copp) White.
Earl E. Herriott
April 23, 1938 â June 13, 2014
CASA GRANDE, Ariz. â Earl E. Herriott, 76, formerly of Argos, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014 at the Casa Grande Regional Medical Center, Arizona.
Born on April 23, 1938 in Freeland Park, Earl was the son of John and Laura (Reed) Herriott. He graduated from Jefferson Center High School in Jefferson Center.
Earl served in the Air National Guard from 1957-1958, after which, he moved to the Marshall County area.
On June 8, 1991, Earl married Linda R. Lewis.
NAPPANEE --- The contestants are getting ready for the Miss Apple Blossom Scholarship Pageant as part of the Apple Blossom Festival next month.
Application deadline is just hours away -- 5 p.m. Friday -- so there is still a chance for late entrants.
This will be the 39th pageant. The pageant is meant to be educational, fun and most of all, memories of a special hometown event.
Pam Shaw is the Pageant Coordinator. She has been on the Festival committee for 14 years.
Through her seasons of dealing with the scholarship pageant, she has come away impressed with the level of competition.
BREMEN -- If ever there was an important tradition in safe hands, it is Bremen's Junior Miss.
The 50th Distinguished Young Women's program took place Saturday night in a very welcoming Bowen Auditorium on the high school campus.
Brooke Bahr took the 2015 title with ease. Her vocal solo and guitar playing alone, her commanding stage presence, the bounce in her routine separating her from the pack in the fitness competition . . . there was little doubt the best competitor this night won it all.

PLYMOUTH â Michael A. Zeider, 61, of Plymouth passed away Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014 at home. He was born on April 20, 1953 to Charles and Patricia (Cooley) Zeider in Plymouth.
Mike recently retired, after working for over 40 years with Indiana State Highway. He thoroughly enjoyed his job as a project manager and loved to share stories about his work. Mike was just as passionate about those he loved as he was about building roads, and was looking forward to spending his retirement with family and friends.
Dewayne âStubbyâ Warren

LEBANON â Dewayne Warren, 82, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014 in Greencastle.
Dewayne âStubbyâ Warren was born in Marshall County, on May 13, 1932, a son to the late Russell Dale and Nora Adeline (Hall) Warren.
Dewayne was a 1950 graduate of Tippecanoe High School. He then enlisted in the United States Army, stationed in Frankfort, Germany, where he drove a truck to haul food for the mess hall. He served his country honorably from 1955 - 1957.

MARSHALL COUNTY â Purdue Extension has been part of the agricultural heritage of Marshall County and other counties throughout the state for a century. That milestone will be commemorated Saturday at the Plymouth Farmers' Market.
The celebration will take place Saturday Aug. 16 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Plymouth Farmers Market on the corner of Garro and River Street.
ARGOS â George Null, current Argos Town Council President, won re-election for his third four-year term on the Council at the Republican convention held last evening.
Winning the other available seat at the Argos Republican Town Convention Thursday evening was new member Suzanne Umbaugh.
The two will automatically begin serving in January regardless of the upcoming general election due to the fact that no Democratic Argos candidate registered to run.
