LAPAZ â The family affect by Tuesday's house fire suffered the loss of their home, personal belongings, and family pets including beloved pitbull, Betty Lou and several cats. The family members were treated and released for smoke inhalation include Jenn Kaser and grandmother Mary Batcho.
Batcho's son-in-law Stanley Kaser is currently still being treated for smoke inhalation and throat issues at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. Kaser is expected to be released soon. Kaser's wife MaryJo was not at home at the time because she had left shortly before for work.
MARSHALL COUNTY â Students got another snow day, county and city crews hit the streets with snow plows again,some residents lost power and others lost control of their cars.

ARGOS âÂ Kenneth âKennyâ E. Garver, 61, passed away at 10:10 a.m., Monday, March 10, 2014 at IU Health, Goshen. Kenny was born July 10, 1952 in Fulton County to the late George Robert and Virginia Mae (Wagoner) Garver and lived most of his life in the Argos area. He worked as a truck driver, bartender and mechanic.

Leininger, 96, Wakarusa, formerly of Mishawaka, Tyner, and Zephyrhills, Fla., where he wintered for 30 years, died at 4:15 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 at Millerâs Merry Manor, Wakarusa. He was born Sept. 21, 1917 in Mishawaka to Earl and Margaret (Graf) Leininger. He married Lodella M. (Powell) Leininger on May 23, 1941 and she died July 24, 2012.

DONALDSON â Linda Kay Vincent-Miller, 63, a resident at the Catherine Kasper Life Center in Donaldson, died on March 9, 2014 surrounded by family, friends and caregivers.
Ms. Vincent-Miller was a treasured sibling, loving wife, devoted mother, admired aunt, valued coworker, a friend to many.
She was born Nov. 10, 1950 in Noblesville, the daughter of Jerome and Mary Nolan Vincent, both now deceased.Â

MARSHALL COUNTY â Incoming telephone lines to the Marshall County Sheriff's office which were reported to be out of service earlier this afternoon, have been repaired, according to an alert from the county.
911 calls were being routed to Kosciusko County until repairs could be made. For non-emergencies, call 952-3289.
PLYMOUTH â The Marshall County Board of Zoning Appeals denied a couple's special use application to open a banquet hall on their property. Anumber of neighbors opposed the application.
Several other requests were granted, including approval to operate home -based businesses and a request to build an outdoor structure at Swan Lake Resort.
