No. 6 Lions beat No. 10 Jimtown, 27-13

October 10, 2011

ELKHART — Dealing with pressure was no big deal for Nate Leeper and the Bremen High football team Friday night.
The senior quarterback was one cool customer by passing for 156 yards and one touchdown and running for 28 more yards, leading No. 6 (Class 2A) Bremen to a 27-13 win over No. 10 (Class 3A) Jimtown in a Northern State Conference showdown at a jam-packed Knepp Field.
Senior running back Braxston Miller added 24 carries for 185 yards and two scores as the Lions (8-0, 6-0 NSC) earned themselves at least a share of their first NSC title since 1995.

Glenn stays in NSC hunt with win over Culver

October 10, 2011

CULVER — John Glenn’s football team savored its 28-13 Northern State Conference win at Culver Community for about a nanosecond Friday night.
With news of Bremen’s 27-13 win over Jimtown — the Jimmies’ first NSC loss of the season — the Falcons quickly looked ahead to next week’s regular-season finale with the Lions. A win at unbeaten Bremen would give the Falcons a share of the league crown.
Glenn faced a similar situation last year, but with standout running back Josh Anderson banged up, failed to capitalize.
