KNOX — John Glenn traveled to Knox Monday night and dismantled the Redskins in five innings by a 10-0 score.
Glenn’s Justin Gierlowski threw his second no-hitter of the season and recorded his third double-digit strikeout game with 10 ks. With his offspeed pitches setting up his fastball, Gierlowski controlled the game. But it was a one-out walk to Knox’s Scott Trojan in the fifth that ruined his perfect game.
Bremen falls 4-2 to Jimtown
Jacob Bennitt pitcher a three-hitter with six strikeouts, but the Lions gave him little run support in a 4-2 Northern State Conference loss to visiting Jimtown Monday night.
Eric Knepper went 3-for-4 at the plate with a triple and scored both of Bremen’s runs, while Bryce Cassel finished with two hits as the Lions slipped to 9-4 on the year.

Triton’s Quentyn Carpenter fired a 1-under 35 on the back side at Mystic Hills to win his third Marshall County Golf Championship Saturday.
Bremen’s Jasmine Schafer helped set two meet records while winning four events as the Lady Lions won the Kouts Relays Saturday.
CULVER — Whatever a player’s score on the front side at Mystic, he can usually count on adding a few stokes on the course’s hilly back nine. Triton’s Quentyn Carpenter shaved one.
Carpenter entered the turn trailing fellow top flighter Trent Elliott of Culver Community as well as teammate Ryan Rapp and Cam Gurtner of LaVille by a stroke, but he birdied the 12th and 13th to move into the lead, then followed a bogey on the 15th with par golf over the final three holes to reclaim the individual Marshall County Golf Championship with an even-par 71 Saturday.
Lions win Kouts Relays
Bremen’s boys track and field team won seven different events, and the Lions won the team championship at the Kouts Relays Saturday.
Reid Zellmer was a triple winner for Bremen in the open 400, the 4x400 relay with Jon Stoller, Joel Miller and Kevin Heckaman and the 4x100 relay with Heckaman, Caleb Walter and Evan Wilson.
Thomas Dean won the 800 and ran anchor for Bremen’s winning 3200 relay team comprised of himself, Clayton Thornton, Bryan Starcevich and Kris Wickens. Nate Strehler won the discus, and Beau Beeson won the pole vault at the big meet.
PLYMOUTH — Analyzing the Plymouth Pilgrims’ Friday game with NorthWood, you could say the weather was beautiful at Bill Nixon Field.
It was hard to find much else positive as Plymouth had one of those games teams have in a long baseball season, dropping a 15-0 decision in five innings. The Pilgrims surrendered a seven spot to the Panthers — highlighted by a three-run homer by NorthWood’s Blake Cleveland — digging a hole it was hard to dig out of.
PLYMOUTH — Freshman Bre Martin drove in Bailey Brown on an 0-2 count for the game-winning run, and Plymouth’s softball team clinched a 4-3 Northern Lakes Conference victory over visiting NorthWood Friday night.
It was the second walk-off NLC win of the week for the Lady Pilgrims, who
“It was really exciting for our team to have a second walk-off victory in one week’s time, and especially for Bre to come through. It was a great play for a freshman able to execute and support her team that way,” said Plymouth softball coach Haley Church.
“It was exciting, a great Friday night.”
