LaVille’s Zach Gurtner shot a 75 at Black Squirrel Saturday to tie for low-medalist honors at the Goshen Golf Invitational.
Plymouth's Morgan O'Neil went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and four stolen bases, and she put the Lady Pilgrims on the board as they earned their first win of the season Friday.
PLYMOUTH — It could have been worse.
After a disastrous five-run open, Plymouth’s Pilgrims could have had a very long Saturday evening indeed. But fighting back, they gave themselves a chance to win before finally falling to South Bend Washington 8-4 at Bill Nixon Field.
Washington hit the Pilgrims early and often, putting up five and batting 12 players in the very first inning.
Lady Pilgrims earn 1st win
The Plymouth Lady Pilgrims earned their first win of the season in their home-opener on Friday, 8-2 over Tippecanoe Valley.
The game was originally scheduled to play at Tippy Valley but was moved to Centennial Park because of weather conditions. The Pilgrims remained the visiting team on the scoreboard, and Morgan O’Neal started the game with a single and two stolen bases on ensuing pitches. She scored in the top of the first, and the Lady Pilgrims never looked back.
