DONALDSON — Pink will be the color of the night at the LifePlex on Wednesday as Ancilla College basketball and Marshall County Ounce of Prevention team up for their annual “Chargers for Change” game to raise money and awareness of breast cancer.
The Chargers will take on Kalamazoo Valley Community College to raise money for the charity with the women’s game beginning at 5:30 p.m. and the men’s game to follow.
PLYMOUTH — The Northern Lakes Conference recently presented former Plymouth head girls basketball coach Dave Cox with the NLC Lifetime Outstanding Service Award and Lifetime Gold Pass to all NLC events.
Prior to his hire as head girls’ coach at Plymouth, Cox spent a combined six years in the Triton, Caston and Plymouth feeder systems. He initiated a Plymouth indoor/outdoor summer league basketball program in 1993 that grew to include over 85 teams and 874 participants across Northern Indiana.Â
HAMLET — Oregon-Davis guard Ashley Campbell was named as one of the IBCA/ Subway Players of the Week Monday for her performances during Class A Sectional 51 play last week.

Lincoln wins Valpo tourney
Over the weekend, the Lincoln Junior High eighth grade girls basketball team traveled to Valparaiso to participate in its second tournament in as many weeks. The Lady Red Storm used strong second half play in both games to win the tourney title, advancing to the championship with a 35-21 win over Grimmer in the semifinal before taking the title, 38-21, versus Ben Franklin.
Down 18-15 at halftime of the championship, Lincoln responded on both ends of the court, finishing the game on a 20-6 run.
