WARSAW — Last year’s sectional championship was the first ever in Culver Girls Academy history. It also seems to have left the Lady Eagles hungry for more.
CGA’s swim team put itself in good position to repeat at the Warsaw Sectional preliminaries Thursday, earning a total of 20 finals qualifications — including five top seeds — and another seven consolation berths in advance of Saturday’s sectional finals.
BOURBON — Triton’s Clay Yeo has been nominated for the McDonald’s All-American Games, it was announced Thursday.
Yeo is among 814 seniors to be nominated for the games. This year’s list boasts players from 39 states and the District of Columbia who have been selected by high school coaches, athletic directors, principals and members of the McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee. The final roster of 24 boys and 24 girls selected to play in the 2013 Games will be announced during the McDonald’s All-American Games Selection Show on ESPNU on Feb. 14 at 5 p.m. ET.

Lady Pilgrims close at Goshen
Plymouth’s girls basketball team got off to a slow start in the team’s regular-season closer at Goshen Thursday, and the Lady Pilgrims suffered a 49-41 loss at the hands of the host Redskins.
