CMA tops Rockies
Luther Jacobs scored twice, and Culver Military trumped sectional rival Plymouth 2-1 at home Tuesday.
Jacobs tallied an unassisted score in the first half then scored the game-winner on a Manuel Ituarte assist after Alex Orellana tied the game up with a solo goal in the second half.
Eric Aguilar made 10 saves in his return at goalkeeper for Plymouth.

PLYMOUTH â€” Courtney Hersick finished with a Texas hat trick, the Plymouth offense poured on the pressure from the opening whistle to the closing buzzer, and the Lady Rockies snapped a three-game skid with a lopsided 9-0 win over visiting John Glenn Monday.
Hersick opened and closed the scoring while notching four goals at Mondayâ€™s contest, putting Plymouth on the board with an unassisted run in the second minute, and dribbling one in from in close with just a few seconds remaining to seal the Lady Rockies the victory at home at Kindt Field.
CULVER â€” Culver Academyâ€™s Head Coach Andy Dorrel has been named the Colts/NFL Coach of the Week, a program presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
Dorrel was selected after his Eagles defeated Lafayette Central Catholic, ending a 48-game win streak dating back to 2008.

Hodges bros come up big in Wabash win
Former Plymouth Rockie Austin Hodges came down with two interceptions, including one for a game-sealing score as Wabash College opened its season with a win over host Hanover Saturday, 33-12.
Hodges returned his second interception of the game 39 yards for a touchdown with 3:59 remaining to put the game out of reach. He also recorded four solo tackles and an assist.

Culver cross country vs LaVille/ OD/ Lakeland at LaVille 5:30 p.m.
Plymouth quarterback Ike Kastner recorded 220 rushing yards with three touchdowns and a two-point conversion while guiding the Rockies to a 34-0 Northern Lakes Conference win at Northridge Friday.
LaVille freshman Lauren Read shot a 91 to beat out the field by five strokes and earn the individual Northern State Conference championship at the NSC Girls Golf Meet Saturday.
NorthWood takes 2nd, Plymouth 4th at NLC meet
Warsaw won the Northern Lakes Conference meet with a 373, while NorthWood finished second with a 381 to finish in a two-way tie for the overall conference championship Saturday at Bent Oak. Plymouth placed fourth with a score of 400 at the NLC meet, meanwhile.
The Lady Pilgrims were led by Emily Bergerâ€™s 88, while Lauren Rearick shot a 101, Kelly Henderson turned in a 105, and Emily Denney carded a 106.

The third-year senior signal caller returned from a three-game suspension Friday, and he ran Plymouthâ€™s offense like a player with something to prove, rattling off three rushing touchdowns and a two-point conversion en route to a game-high 220 rushing yards and guiding the Rockies to a 34-0 Northern Lakes Conference rout of the Raiders on the road at Northridge.
