PLYMOUTH — After a pair of tough losses to Northern Lakes Conference powers Goshen and Northridge, Plymouth’s girls soccer team needed a win before resuming conference play this weekend.
They got two.
Allie Wright scored the go-ahead on a Nicole Burdine assist in the 72nd minute, and Plymouth held on for its second win in two days, a 2-1 decision over visiting LaVille at home at Kindt Field.
It was the Rockies’ second straight home victory after a lopsided 9-0 rout of John Glenn Monday.
WALKERTON — Tuesday’s Northern State Conference meet at John Glenn was a match-up of two young squads. In the end, it was the slightly more experienced Falcons who claimed the victory, handing visiting LaVille losses on all five courts for their second NSC win.
“Any time you get a conference win it’s something to hang your hat on. We’ve got a tough conference this year and an inexperienced squad. We’ve got a couple seniors, but we have five sophomores, so we’re still building up a little bit and getting the guys some experience. It’s a good win,” said Glenn tennis coach Chris Horvath.

Luther Jacobs scored twice, and Culver Military trumped sectional rival Plymouth 2-1 at home Tuesday.
Jacobs tallied an unassisted score in the first half then scored the game-winner on a Manuel Ituarte assist after Alex Orellana tied the game up with a solo goal in the second half.
Eric Aguilar made 10 saves in his return at goalkeeper for Plymouth.
