INDIANAPOLIS â€” Three area students have been named to the Indiana High School Sports Associationâ€™s Student Advisory Committee for 2012-13. Juniors Ellen Smith of Plymouth, Sara Slabaugh of Bremen and Amber Cowell of Culver Academy have all been named to this yearâ€™s committee.
Each year, the IHSAA receives nominations from school principals on behalf of student-athletes who attended the IHSAA Student Leadership Conference in June. From that group of nominations, 20 are selected for interviews by members of
PLYMOUTH â€” The Plymouth Post 27 Diamond Spyders baseball team is hosting the American Legion State Baseball Tournament from today through Sunday at Bill Nixon Field.
The Spyders will be among five teams at the tourney after receiving an automatic bid as hosts. Here is a schedule of games for the tilt.

Game 1: Lafayette Regional winner vs. Rockport Regional winner, 4 p.m.
Game 2: Porter County Post Â 94 vs. Plymouth Post 27, 7:30 p.m.
Game 3: Terre Haute Regional winner vs. winner of Game 2, 4 p.m.
Plymouth wins home invite
Two of Plymouthâ€™s top four placed in the top five, and the Lady Pilgrims won their home invitational Wednesday at the Plymouth Country Club with a score of 368.
Lauren Rearick was second overall with an 86, while teammate Emily Berger shot an 88 in fourth place individually for Plymouth. Morgan Oberley shot a 94, and Emily Denny carded a 100 for the Pilgrims.
John Glenn finished in fifth place at the nine-team meet, meanwhile, as Emma Reese led the team with a 101 followed by Morgan Egglestonâ€™s 109, Kaylee Matzâ€™s 110, and Presley Geeâ€™s 114.
