PLYMOUTH — It had taken 15 meetings for Bremen to finally break its losing streak against Plymouth last season.
On Friday, a young and largely untested Lions lineup backed it up with its second straight victory over the Rockies, handing their hosts a 42-26 Senior Nigh Spoiler at The Rockpile in the two teams’ season-opener.
WALKERTON — John Glenn’s football team dodged a number of first-half bullets against North Judson-San Pierre Friday.
In the second half, though, the host Falcons felt the full force of the Bluejays’ assault on both sides of the line.
Starting with Tim Stasiek’s 62-yard interception return of a deflected throw in the first possession of the second half and accelerated by junior quarterback Caston Sanchez’s 91-yard touchdown pass to Eric Beckman on third and long, North Judson fired off 28 third-frame points and ran away with a 41-15 season-opening win over the Falcons.

FULTON — Triton football coach Rodney Younis wanted a quick start from his young team.
He got that on offense, but his defensive unit spent much of the its season opener trying to catch up with Caston, and the Comets pulled out the victory 28-20 at the Comet Crater.
“Caston is a solid, physical team,” Younis said. “We just couldn’t slow down their offense in the first half. We made some adjustments at halftime and things got better, but we were behind all night.”
