Bremen track teams split with Marian

March 28, 2012

BREMEN — In the numbers game of track and field, the Lions’ depth, experience and young talent added up to a win in the boys meet, while the Lady Lions’ relative inexperience and lower numbers equalled a loss as Bremen hosted Marian in its home opener Tuesday night.
Bremen’s boys team won by a lopsided 97-35 margin in their second meet of the season, while the girls lost 70-57 in their season opener at home.

Lady Lions lose in five
Angie Dainelli led off the game with an inside-the-park home run to set the tone for Riley, and Bremen suffered a 14-0, five-inning rout in its opener at home Tuesday.
Riley started fast with five runs in the first frame, then tacked on three more in the next two innings.
All total, the visiting Wildcats cranked out 13 hits, while the Lady Lions managed just two by Saylor Bailey and Allison Shorter against Riley hurler Jackie Logsdon.
Bailey was credited with the loss inside the circle for the Lions relieving Lexi Pate in the second.
