CULVER — Ethan Pike had a career night for Bremen, but even his game-high 26 points couldn’t counter Culver’s offensive balance or the Cavs’ free-throw shooting.
Three players scored in double figures for the Cavaliers led by junior point guard Collin Stevens’ 20, and Culver knocked down 14 of 19 charity tosses in the final quarter to hand the Lions a 54-50 Northern State Conference loss in the two teams’ regular season-closer at John R. Nelson Gymnasium Friday.
BOURBON — Triton boys basketball head coach Jason Groves said his halftime instructions centered around keeping it simple.
By simplifying, the Class A No. 5 Trojans made the game look easy, hitting 11 of 16 from the field and outscoring visiting Knox by 19 points in the third quarter en route to a 60-31 Northern State Conference and Senior Night win at The Trojan Trench Friday.
With the victory, Triton finishes in a tie with LaVille atop the league standings.
ELKHART — LaVille held the Jimmies to just four points in the third quarter to stretch a 24-16 lead to 40-20, and the Lancers clinched a two-way tie for the Northern State Conference championship on the road at Jimtown Friday night.
The win was a school record 10th straight for LaVille, which finishes out its NSC schedule at 6-1 to tie with Triton for the conference title.
The Lancers were led by Jordyn Williams’ 19 points, while fellow senior guard Andrew Hostetler finished with 16 points in the regular-season closer.
Jimtown was paced by Justin Brown’s 12 points.
