Bremen and Culver Academies headline a list of 24 teams selected to participate in the first Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association (IHSWCA) State Duals Invitational.
The three-class tournament is scheduled Saturday, Dec. 22, at Westfield High School, just north of Indianapolis.
The Duals are an attempt to rekindle the excitement of a state championship event, featuring many of the best wrestling teams in Indiana, following the Indiana High School Athletic Associationâs decision to end its state team tournament.
Admission will be $10.
BLUEFIELD, Va. â Chase Neidig is a Renaissance man in American soccer, having served in every single capacity in the beautiful game.
He has spent time at the high school level, the pros, in grassroots movements, internationally, and now in the collegiate game. He has even served on the media and front office side of the sport. Simply put, Neidig has done it all.
One thing is always constant: Neidigâs love for soccer and his drive to make it work in America, and for that the Plymouth native was recently highlighted as one of the International Soccer Networkâs Stars of Coaching.
Apoplectic wouldnât be the best way to describe how I was that night.
I mean I knew Notre Dame was going to struggle against Oklahoma.
But still as Oklahoma took their first drive right down the field, the anger built.
âSame old Notre Dame,â I muttered to myself like a crazy old man.
Then a botched snap changed everything.
Then Cierre Wood breaks a long touchdown run.
âWell at least we arenât going to get blown out,â I said.
Then a half goes by.
Then three quarters.
âNotre Dame can actually win this thing,â I said.
All this time, when I have heard references about âFrankenstormâ, I thought it was about the weather. Nooooo.
This latest âPerfect Stormâ has been about the 2012 Notre Dame football season. Who would have ever thought the words âNational Championshipâ and âNotre Dameâ would be in the same sentence two months ago?
No one, not even the Leprechaun.
