Plymouth is looking to snap a two-game skid against a tough Concord squad, while Bremen tries to keep its perfect season intact on the road at Knox, and Triton hosts LaVille in a match-up of winless Northern State Conference teams as Week 7 of the football season gets underway Friday.
After a 3-1 start to the season, the Rockies (3-3, 2-2 NSC) are reeling from a pair of losses on the road at Elkhart Memorial and Wawasee in Weeks 5 and 6. But the squad seems ready to bounce back for its homecoming match-up against the Northern Lakes Conference-leading Minutemen (4-2, 3-0) this week.
BREMEN â€” As the 45th Annual Boys State Tennis Tournament gets underway today, a pair of area teams are looking to continue some impressive runs.
Plymouth is looking for its 15th straight sectional championship at the Bremen tournament, while Culver Military Academy is seeking an eighth consecutive title at the Culver Academies tilt. Both programs are vying for their 22nd overall sectional championship.
Plymouth wins at Glenn
Plymouth brought home a three-set win from John Glenn Tuesday, 25-23, 25-19, 25-16.
The Lady Pilgrims were led offensively by Marissa Germanâ€™s 10 kills, Andria Shookâ€™s eight and Amber Redingerâ€™s seven as well as Mikayla Germanâ€™s two aces and Shookâ€™s one.
Haley Harrell passed out 16 assists to Plymouth attackers at the game, while Shook recorded seven digs and two block assists in the win, which brings the Pilgrims to an even 12-12.
