PLYMOUTH — After suffering a Senior Night loss during the basketball season, Erin Kinney was determined not to let it happen again.
Already down a set and trailing Mishawaka Marian’s Sarah Krizman three games to four in the second set, the Plymouth No. 1 battled back, surrendering just one more game over the match’s remainder to beat Krizman 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 and seal a 5-0 whitewash of Marian on the Lady Pilgrims’ Senior Night at home Monday.
WINONA LAKE — Bremen High School senior Taylor Fanning became the first 2011 recruit for the Grace College golf team Monday, signing on to play for the NAIA Division II Lancers next year.
Fanning played four years of golf at Bremen in addition to four years of tennis as well. During his high school golf career, he was a two-time All-Northern State Conference athlete, a qualifier for the 2009-10 regional meet as a junior last season and an IJGSA state qualifier. On the tennis court, he was a three-time team MVP and also earned all-conference honors.
