Plymouth travels to Warsaw tourney as boys swim sectionals begin tonight

WARSAW — Poaolo Palmitessa is feeling the pressure.
After falling just shy of a state cut in second place in the 200-yard Individual Medley at last year’s Warsaw Boys Swim Sectional, the Plymouth senior has just one more shot to make it out this week as the preliminary round of swim sectionals begins tonight.
“I’m feeling enormous pressure because I haven’t been to state ever,” said Palmitessa. “It’s pretty nerve-wracking for me, but I’m pretty excited, too.”

Howe faces uphill climb as state wrestling meet opens Friday

INDIANAPOLIS — If Damon Howe wants to win a state title, he’ll have to do what no one else has yet been able to do this season.
And he’ll have to do it three times.

Hodges named All NLC

PLYMOUTH — The 2010-11 All-Northern Lakes Conference boys basketball team has been announced, and Plymouth senior point guard Houston Hodges was named to the first team, while freshman Mack Mercer was given honorable mention in his first season with the Pilgrims. NorthWood seniors Michael Paul and Cameron Williams were also chosen for first team honors, while junior teammate Jakyah Qaiyim was named to the honorable mention list.
Warsaw’s Doug Ogle was named NLC Coach of the Year after guiding the Tigers to a 6-1 conference record and their second-straight NLC title.
