Serves power Triton in win over Culver

September 3, 2010

BOURBON — It wasn’t the prettiest match of the season, but Triton will take the end result.
The Lady Trojans returned from a second-game loss to topple Culver 25-12, 18-25, 25-9, 25-21 in a Northern State Conference volleyball victory over Culver Community at Triton Thursday.
“We’re struggling with our competitiveness this season, but they overcame that and we still got the win,” Triton head coach Terrin Meister said.
Triton dominated the first set, but Culver (2-8, 0-1) fought back and benefited from numerous miss-hits and unforced errors.

Argos draws at Wawasee

September 3, 2010

SYRACUSE — Despite a 2-1 shooting margin, Argos had to come from behind to salvage a 1-1 tie with Wawasee on the road Thursday.
Mallory Rondeau beat three Dragons and hit a great shot across the goal to give the hosts a lead midway through the first half.
