She is survived by her husband, Jasper Tolson Sr.; daughters, Misty (David) Back of North Judson, and Kathy (Vince) Smith and Bertha Tolson, all of Knox; son, Jasper (Stacy) Tolson Jr. of Baines, Texas; sister, Ada Fugate of Rochester and brothers, Charles Noel of Logansport, Stanley Cook of North Judson and Herschel Bell of Morristown, Tenn.

WALKERTON — Velva D. Grossman, 77, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011 in Golden Living Center-Fountainview Terrace, LaPorte.
Survivors include one son, Richard (Val) Grossman of Walkerton; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her twin, Jewel Dishman and sisters, Barbara Potter and Marie Scaia.

WALKERTON — Fred A. Peterson, 67, of Walkerton passed away Tuesday evening, Nov. 15, 2011. Fred was born Jan. 19, 1944 to Charles and Frances (Berg) Peterson in LaPorte.
Mr. Peterson was a lifelong Walkerton resident. He was a United States Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #189. Mr. Peterson was formerly employed as a machinist at Slicers in LaPorte.

MISHAWAKA — Faye D. Watson, 105, of West Broadway, Mishawaka, died Tuesday at Miller’s Merry Manor, New Carlisle.
Surviving is her daughter, Linda Watson of Newark, Del.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with burial at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Bubb Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka is assisting the family with the arrangements.

PLYMOUTH — Earl Gerald Weidner, 82, a lifelong Marshall County resident, died at 6:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, in Atria Tanglewood Trace Assisted Living, Mishawaka.
Born in Argos, July 27, 1929, Earl was the son of Charles Henry and Clara Hartman Weidner.
He graduated from Argos High School with the class of 1947, and served as a sergeant in the Army in the Korean War.
June 6, 1953, in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Plymouth, Earl and Lois Jean Umbaugh were married.

BREMEN — Bethel Myrtle Huber, 89, of Bremen passed away Monday, Nov. 14, 2011 at the Hospice House of South Bend. She was born Aug. 1, 1922 in Bremen to John and Inez (Frenger) Edel. Nov. 8, 1941 she married Kenneth Huber, he preceded her in death Dec. 2, 2010.
Bethel graduated from Bremen High School in 1940 and went on to cook for the Bremen Schools for many years. She attended Bremen First United Church of Christ. She loved her family and enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and school functions.

(Fred) Malecki of Granger, Keith A. (Jill) Weidner of South Bend; eight grandchildren; and brother, Charles T. Weidner of Naples, Fla.
