SCHAUMBURG, Ill. â€” Albert Byron Chipman III, Pioneer of Retail Store Design, disabled World War II veteran, District Rotary Governor, Championship Master Swimmer and City Councilman, passed away Friday evening in Schaumburg.
Albert was born April 29, 1922 in Rochester. He grew up in Plymouth, where his father was the Marshall County Judge. The family lived across from the iconic Midwestern courthouse located on the square in the middle of town where his father presided over court.
PLYMOUTH â€”Â Merle Eugene Eckert Sr., 82, passed away at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at his residence, 19431 W. Lincoln Way, Plymouth.
Merle was born the son of Floyd and Cora F. Reynolds Eckert Oct. 13, 1929. He had lived in Marshall County all of his life and graduated from LaPaz High School with the class of 1949.
July 6, 1952, in the 1st Assembly of God Church, Merle and Melissa Marie Gaines were married. Melissa died Dec. 7, 2009.
Merle served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

STURGIS, Mich. â€”Â Donald L. Fisher, 89, passed away Jan. 4, 2012 at his home in Sturgis, Mich. with his family by his side. Donald was born Dec. 25, 1922 in Plymouth to Floyd and Vera Fisher. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert.

DECATUR, Ill. â€”Â Scott Todd Thomas, 49, of 1640 N. Church St., Decatur, Ill., passed away at 4:40 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at Prairie Rose Health Care Center, in Pana, Ill.Â
Scott was born Oct. 28, 1962, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Thomas and Julie (Bethke) Thomas.Â

CULVER â€”Â James H. Pinckard, 76, of Culver, formerly of Chicago Heights, Ill. died Jan. 27, 2012.
He is survived by sons, James, Thomas (Paula) and Scott (Laura) Pinckard; grandchildren, Matthew J., Matthew L., Daniel, Sarah, Caroline and Jonathan Pinckard. He was the son of the late Helen Pinckard-Robertson, and former husband of Celeste nee Pilotto.

LUTHERVILLE, Md. â€”Â Audrey R. Caslow (nee Reus), died Jan. 27, 2012. She was a member of St. Paulâ€™s Lutheran Church, Lutherville, Md. for more than 50 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Caslow, Jr.; devoted mother of Linda Zeider and her husband David of Plymouth, and Sharon Caslow. She is also survived by three grandchildren, David, Michael and Diana Zeider and three great-granddaughters.

ARGOS â€”Â Lucille Long Miller, 96, of Argos, passed away peacefully, at home of natural causes, Jan. 28, 2012. She was the daughter ofÂ Charles and Ollie (Miller) Bower. She was born in LaPaz, March 27, 1915. She was raised in South Bend, moving there as a child.
Lucille married Modest Long, of Plymouth, who was a decorating contractor, in 1936. She worked, with her husband, as a secretary and bookkeeper until his retirement and his eventual passing in 1985. In 1988 she married Charles B. Miller. Charles passed away in 2009.Â

BREMEN â€” Lloyd E. Cabiness, 66, of Bremen, went peacefully to be with the Lord Monday, Jan. 30, 2012 at Hospice House in Elkhart. He was born Oct. 17, 1945 in Logansport to Robert and Marcella (Moore) Cabiness. Lloyd married Kathleen Mcveigh Griffin July 11, 1992 in Bremen at the Church of the Brethren.
Mr. Cabiness graduated from Washington Township High School and later from Manchester College in 1967. In 1967, he began his teaching career at W.C. Mills Elementary School, Wabash, until accepting a principalâ€™s position at Wabash in 1973.
