Helen Mae Freeman

SOUTH BEND ‚ÄĒ¬†Helen Mae Freeman was born at the home of her parents, Clarence and Hazel (Ritter) Hoover in Marshall County Jan. 30, 1918. She was the first of four children ‚ÄĒ Martha (Wheeler), Dwight and Dale, all deceased.
Helen graduated from Tyner High School where she met the love of her life ‚ÄĒ Roy Freeman. They were married at the Pine Creek parsonage April 16, 1938, and celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary earlier this year. They lived in St. Joseph and Marshall Counties all their lifetime.

She is survived by her husband, Juan Baca of Plymouth; daughter, Kimberly Baca of Plymouth; sons, Juan Baca Jr., Miguel Baca, and Leonardo Baca all of Plymouth; mother, Maria Consuelo Arvizu; sisters, Maria Dolores Malagon of California, Maria De Los Angeles Martinez of Nevada, Maria Guadalupe Ortega of Nevada, and Maria Consuelo Velasquez of California; and brothers, Miguel Flores and Sergio Flores both of California.

KEWANNA ‚ÄĒ¬†Helen J. Miller, 94, of Kewanna passed away at 8:10 p.m., Saturday, July 30, 2011 at her residence.
Helen was born Feb. 27, 1917 near Lake Bruce in Pulaski County. Jan. 6, 1936 she married Robert H. Miller and he preceded her in death Aug. 2, 1994.
She was a 1935 Kewanna High School graduate.

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. ‚ÄĒ¬†Jack Allen Hurley, 65, of Mountain Home, Ark. passed away Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. Jack Allen Hurley was born Sept. 21, 1945 in Gary to Earnest and Isabelle Hurley. He enjoyed fishing and music, especially Willie Nelson.

PLYMOUTH ‚ÄĒ Former Chicago area resident, Barbara Ann Myszkowski, 71, finished her race into the arms of¬†Jesus at 4:10 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 in Miller‚Äôs Merry Manor, Plymouth.
Barbara has been in the gentle care of her family and the Miller‚Äôs staff since 2009 and more recently the Center for Hospice Care.

PLYMOUTH ‚ÄĒ¬†Lifetime Plymouth resident James W. Walker, 56, of 711 Magnetic Parkway, passed away unexpectedly at 2:40 a.m. Friday in the emergency room of St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth campus. His death has been attributed to heat stroke.
Jim was a caring person who volunteered his time and construction talent helping build Habitat for Humanity houses in Plymouth and surrounding areas. He could often be found serving as a clerk in the Habitat Re-Store in Plymouth.

BREMEN ‚ÄĒ¬†Helen L. Johnson, 98, formerly of Riley Road, North Liberty and Sherman Street, Bremen, passed away at 6:45 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2011 in the Bremen Health Care Nursing Home, Bremen. She was born Sept. 17, 1912 in Marshall County to the late Wilbur Maxson and Beth ‚ÄúBessie‚ÄĚ (Armentrout) Phillips and lived in this area all of her life. March 19, 1932 in Plymouth, she married Chester Johnson, who preceded her in death Aug. 14, 1974.
