OSCEOLA â Fred James Gunther, 52, of Osceola, passed away at 7:40 p.m., Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka after a battle with lung cancer. Fred was born Dec. 23, 1959, in Plymouth, the son of Fred H. and Dorothy (Kopetski) Gunther. He graduated from LaVille High School.

Rylee Shepherd, 4 months, passed away Thursday Oct. 4, 2012 at 8:50 a.m. in his residence. He was born May 8, 2012 to Tara Amor and Brian Shepherd.
He is survived by his parents, a sister Nevah Shepherd of New Haven, maternal grandparents Sue Walters of Nappanee, and Terry Amor of Plymouth, paternal grandparents Shelia Shepherd of Warsaw and Elbert Shepherd of Warsaw, maternal great-grandmother Opal Poe of Warsaw, and paternal grandmother Peggy Amor of Plymouth.

WINAMAC âÂ Lester L. âBudâ Manis, 83, of Winamac died Oct. 5, 2012 at 8 a.m. at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Deloris J. Brown Manis; daughters, Deborah D. (Bob) Carpenter, Lafayette, Suzanne M. (Tim) Coonrod, Mooresville, Mary Margaret (Jack) Van Lieshout, Evansville; three grandchildren; and three sisters.
No services will be held.
Private burial will take place at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.
The Frain Mortuary, Winamac is handling arrangements.

ETNA GREEN âÂ John Homer Mason, 77, of rural Etna Green, passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at Warsaw Meadows Care Center.
John was born Nov. 5, 1934 at Warsaw to LeRoy Mason and Nettie Jordan Mason. He was a resident of the Etna Green and Bourbon area most all his life. John was a veteran and served 20 years in the United States Army. He served in the Korean War and two terms in the Vietnam War. He was a Mess Cook Sergeant. Locally he worked for Orthopedic Equipment Company, Wire flex and at Bourbon Plastics.

(Margaret) Turner, LaCrosse; daughters, Betty Jean Mann, Knox, Pam (Robert) Dolliver, Valparaiso; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and sister, Evelyn (James) Watson, Valparaiso.

INDIANAPOLIS â Ann C. Laramore Johns, 53, a former Plymouth resident, passed away at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at her home in Indianapolis.
Ann was born June 4, 1959 to William F. and Betty Lou Pinney Laramore in Plymouth. Ann graduated from Plymouth High School in 1978 and received an associate degree from Ancilla College in 1980 and a B.S. degree in social work from Indiana Central College, Indianapolis in 1983.

ARGOS âÂ James K. Sjoquist, age 71, of Argos, passed away at 1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at his home.Â
James was born May 7, 1941, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Kermit and Mildred (Swan) Sjoquist. Jan. 14, 1967, James married the former Betty Jean Casey. Together they raised their daughter, Venus. James worked for the Dodge Manufacturing Company, Honeywell, and Indiana Heat Transfer, as a Draftsman. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and served overseas in the Vietnam War.
