PLYMOUTH — Toby Ann Towns, 61, a longtime Plymouth resident, passed away at 4:20 p.m., Friday, Feb. 4, 2011 in the Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.
Toby was born the only child of Herschel E. and Phyllis J. “Josephine” (Eaglebarger) Towns April 16, 1949 in Gary. Her father was principal of Lincoln Jr. High for many years and her mother was a member of Tri-Kappa and civic-minded. Toby enjoyed being a part of her parent’s lives and the family involvement in the community.

PLYMOUTH — William R. “Bill” Wagoner was born in Warsaw, May 29, 1952, to Roland and Bertha Wagoner. He grew up in Bourbon and was the youngest of six children. He passed away at home in Plymouth Feb. 3, 2011, after a brave battle with cancer.

PLYMOUTH — Faith and patriotism well described Fred J. Beam at his sudden passing Tuesday afternoon, the first day of February, 2011. 
A man of faith he served God as a proud husband, father and grandfather. As a patriot he effectively served his country as Command Sergeant Major Fred J. Beam, U.S. Army – Retired.

WYATT — Richard “Dick” LaVine, 83, of Wyatt, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011 at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma LaVine; son, David LaVine of Granger; daughter, Sharon (Joe) Ford of North Liberty; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers: Alfred LaVine of South Bend, Burnett LaVine of Delton, Mich., and Lyle LaVine of Plymouth; sisters, Edna Bunch of Mishawaka, and Treva Bope of Winter Haven, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Orval “Buck” Sweeney age 89 of Oshkosh, Wis., passed away Saturday morning, Jan. 29, 2011 at Park View Health Center.
Buck was born Oct. 22, 1921 in Salem, Ind., the son of Clotus and Gertie (Hattabaugh) Sweeney. He had three brothers, one sister, and one half-brother.
Oct. 28, 1939, Buck married Clara Walton. They had four children: Danella, Rosalind, Burley, and Mike. June 27, 1964, Buck married Lorraine R. Fauk giving him two stepsons, Ronald and Donald, and they had one daughter, Linda.

She is survived by her husband, Sandro; a son, Scott (Sherri) Sickmiller of Tippecanoe; daughters, Bobbi Sickmiller of Tippecanoe and Melissa (Ryan) Klingerman of Argos; four grandchildren; and brothers: Joe (Bev) Cooley of Talma, Dan (Raelene) Cooley of Milford, and Jack Howard of Nappanee; and a sister, JoAnn (Bill) Martin of Bourbon.

MONTEREY — Ruth C. Kamin, 90, of Monterey, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2011.
She is survived by a son, Phillip D. Kamin; daughter, June (Walter) Marks; sister, Marion Martin; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. (CT) Thursday, Feb. 3, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Culver.
Funeral services will take place at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4 at the church.
Burial will follow at Elm Lawn Cemetery, Elmhurst, Ill.
M.C. Smith Funeral Home, Knox, assisted the family with local arrangements.

She was the wife of Robert W. Mallory.

He is survived by his wife Ramona; daughters, Kimberly (Tony) Balsley of Tippecanoe, and Kandi Hektor-Fritter of Argos; son, Randy (Michelle) Hektor of Mentone; sisters: Bonnie Mosley of Arkansas, Sister Sharon Hektor of Michigan, and Patricia (William) Mosley of Arkansas; brother, Joseph (Bertha) Hektor of Mississippi; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
