John M. Orr

PLYMOUTH â€” John M. Orr, age 84, passed away at 1:10 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2013 at Pilgrim Manor, Plymouth.
John was born in Plymouth on May 4, 1928 to Vernon Orr and Margaret Gantz Yazel. He graduated from Argos High School in 1947.
John was enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1950-52 and served during the Korean War. After returning to the states, he worked for AM General until retiring in 1990. During his 25 years of work, he worked on the assembly line, as a forklift operator, as maintenance in the saw room and in the warehouse.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Kristen (Chris) Brody and Kristian (Cristy) Holtzclaw; five grandchildren; mother, Betty Ellett; sister, Pamela (Robert) Lyon; and brother, Jeffrey (Tina) Holtzclaw.

RIVERDALE, Ill. â€”Â William Kranenburg, age 95, of Riverdale, Ill., formerly of Koontz Lake, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013.
He leaves behind his wife of 29 years, Dorothy; his four children, Bill (Marie) Kranenburg of Grovertown, Elsa (Jack) Finwall of Schererville, Carol (Stan) Beem of Clermont, Fla., and Pat (Linda) Kranenburg of Grovertown; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his wife Helen (1983), also his brothers Dan, John, Tuenie, and his sister Min Aardema.

PLYMOUTH â€” Mary Ruth Girten, 94, died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013.
A longtime Plymouth resident, she was born New Yearâ€™s Eve, Dec. 31, 1918, in Plymouth, the daughter of Walter J. Nelson and Stella May Fletcher.
She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1936. She worked at the telephone company in Plymouth. For 31 years, she worked in the cafeteria of the Plymouth Community School System, retiring in 1995.

BREMEN â€” Charlotte Edel, 88, formerly of Bremen, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Kosciusko Community Hospital. She was born Nov. 18, 1924 to John and Inez (Frenger) Edel in Bremen.
Charlotte was born into a very large and loving family. She graduated from Bremen High School with the class of 1942. She was a lifelong member of the Bremen VFW Ladiesâ€™ Auxiliary and an avid bowler in the womenâ€™s traveling bowling league. Charlotte was loved by numerous nieces and nephews, and will be greatly missed.
Marjorie Joan (Chappell) Cummins

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. â€”Â Marjorie Joan (Chappell) Cummins passed away March 6, 2013, in Hope Hospice, Bonita Springs, Fla., after battling multiple myeloma cancer since January 2007.
Born in Indianapolis, (Marion Co) on Dec. 13, 1938, Marjorie was the daughter of William Kenneth and Launa May (Records) Chappell.
She married Allen H. Cummins on June 21, 1959, at the St. John Evangelical and Reformed Church, Indianapolis, who survives.

BREMEN â€”Â Joyce Main, 88, of Bremen, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013, in her residence.
Joyce was born Jan. 2, 1925, in Leesburg, to Ralph and Goldie (Rousey) Sanderson. She was a graduate of Leesburg High School.
Joyce married Harold â€śHugâ€ť Main on July 7, 1951, and resided in Bremen for 60 years.

She is survived by sons, Larry (Amme) Girten, Bill (Donna) Girten, Bob Girten all of Plymouth; daughters, Dee (Jim) Brown, Plymouth, Lynn (Steve) Jacox, Michigan City, Anne Gantz, Plymouth, and Patti Girten, Plymouth; two brothers, Wendell Nelson and Gordon Nelson; three sisters, Joan (Fred) Wolff, Rosemarie Campbell and Helen â€śMickâ€ť Nelson, all of Plymouth; 14 grandchildren; and several stepgrand and great-grandchildren.

BREMEN â€”Â Barbara A. Solmos, 67, of Bremen died March 3, 2013 in Bremen.
She is survived by four children, Kevin (Karen) Solmos of Elkhart, Bradley (Wendy) Solmos of Bremen, Kristi (Troy) Price of Wyatt, Timothy (Lonnie) Solmos of Wisconsin; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Saundra (Frank) Bertolan and Anna (Dusty) Dalton.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.
Visitation is from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
