KOKOMO — Larry G “Chappy†Chapel, 68, of Kokomo died at 7:50 a.m., Sunday April 21, 2013 at the Howard Community Hospital, Kokomo.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Ann; his daughter, Susan (Kurt) Meissnest; his mother, Wilodene “Willie†Eltzeroth all of Kokomo; and his father-in-law, Bob Holloway of Rochester.

BOURBON — Betty Ilene Baney, 85, of Bourbon, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. in Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne. She had been in failing health.
Betty was born Dec. 14, 1927 at Ft. Wayne to Ward Grim and Ethel Leora Welch Grim.Â
She has been a resident of Bourbon since 1953. She was a graduate of South Side High School of Fort Wayne in 1946. Betty was a homemaker and worked for nine years at Lincoln Life Insurance Company of Fort Wayne.

A graveside service and burial will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11 a.m. in Oakwood Cemetery with Military honors by the American Legion Post 49 and VFW Post 1126 both of Warsaw.

ROCHESTER — Jack B. Washburn, 84, Rochester, passed away at 5:38 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2013 at his residence.
Born in Larwill in Whitley County on Oct. 2, 1928, he was the son of Dale Owen and Ruth Selina Klein Washburn. On June 3, 1951 in Monticello at the United Methodist Church, he was married to Eileen Lucile Gillespie, and she survives.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Ben) Kane of Lakeville; two sons, Joe (Renee`) Clady of Walkerton and Robert Rensberger of Lakeville; seven grandchildren; sister, Esther Casad of Lakeville and brother, Harry L. Casad Jr. of Lakeville.

PLYMOUTH — Elaine Watkins, 79, passed away at 12:55 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Mrs. Watkins was born Sept. 11, 1933 in South Bend to the late Mark L.J. and Ogle (Searfoss) Fritz. She has lived in Plymouth for the past 20 years. On Aug. 11, 1951 in Lakeville, she married Gene R. Watkins who survives.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Minelli) Preston; sons, Marc Preston, Goshen, Andrew Preston, Palm Beach, Fla.; daughters, Karen (Bill) Papadopoulos, Bloomington, Kim (Jeff) Smiejek, Chicago, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa. A Mass of Christian Burial is Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Goshen followed by burial in Violett Cemetery.

Tom was born the son of Fred Hoffer and Gladys Hunter Hoffer, July 8, 1934 in Mishawaka.

MIDLAND, Mich. — Phyllis Ann (Seymour) Graham, age 81, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away at Sylvan Nursing Home in Clearwater, Fla., on April 11, 2013. Phyllis was born on the family farm in Bourbon, to the late Emerson and Ada (Sneff) Seymour, the second of three children.
