PLYMOUTH — Gerald D. Leffert, age 94, Plymouth, passed away peacefully, Sunday, June 2, 2013, at 7:02 a.m., at his home.
Gerald was born March 26, 1919, in Argos, to Harmon and Tyra (Kepler) Leffert. Gerald and Joan F. Mullins, of Tippecanoe, were married Dec. 24, 1939. Gerald was a farmer all his life, near Argos. He and Joan spent their retirement between Grove City, Fla. and Plymouth.

WINAMAC — Joan S. Strand, 80, a lifetime resident of Winamac, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2013 at IU Health Hospital in LaPorte. She was born Feb. 26, 1933 in Winamac to the late Walter and Lucille Strand.
After the untimely death of her mother, her maternal grandparents helped raise her.
Joan was a 1951 graduate of Winamac High School and enjoyed attending class reunions as well as the Alumni Banquets. She kept in touch with many of her school mates.
She was a retired telephone operator and dispatcher for United Telephone.

PLYMOUTH — On Sunday, June 2, 2013, Joan Zink, 85, left this world to be with Jesus.
Joan was born in Teegarden on Nov. 18, 1927 and married Francis Don Zink, the love of her life, May 8, 1948. They were married 65 years.

LAKEVILLE — Laura Maxine Amor, 78, passed away at 1:33 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the Pilgrim Manor in Plymouth. Maxine was born March 1, 1935 in North Liberty to the late Palmer and Minnie (Nelson) Snyder. She has remained a lifelong area resident. On Jan. 24, 1959 in Marshall County, she married Ivan “Ike” Amor who preceded in death May 23, 2013. One sister, Phyllis (Charles) Hess, and one brother, Harold (Eilene) Snyder, also preceded Maxine in death.

MISHAWAKA — Jane Conley, 91, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the Golden Living Center, Mishawaka. Mrs. Conley was born Aug. 12, 1921 in Salyersville, Ky. to the late Adam and Rosa (Allen) Miller. She moved from Kentucky to our local area in 1940. On May 25, 1940 in Knox, she married Floyd Conley who preceded her in death March 2, 1975. Three sisters, Frances VanDeVoorde, Madeline Personette, and Meda Owens, and her son-in-law, Charles Thomas, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Sheri Alvarez of LaPorte and Angela Berg of Indianapolis; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Norman of South Bend and Larry Norman of Plymouth and one sister, Evelyn Norem of Plymouth.
