LIBERTY, Ky. — Ida Lou Scher, 88, passed away in her home at 3:20 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 at Liberty, Ky.
The daughter of John and Opal Smith Miller, she was born in Bourbon on Feb. 2, 1925. She graduated from Plymouth High School. She joined the Women’s Army Corps in 1945 and worked as a clerk during WWII.

PLYMOUTH — Raymond P. Van Blaricom, 76, of Plymouth, passed away surrounded by his loving wife and family at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2013.
The son of Ted and Esther (Sutherland) Van Blaricom, Raymond was born Sept. 28, 1937 in Plymouth. He attended Tyner High School.
On Nov. 24, 1955, Raymond married Dora A. Van Blaricom in Plymouth.
Ray worked for Bomarko for five years and then for United Technology for nine years, retiring in 1991.

ROCHESTER — Harry Ginther Jr., 91, of Rochester died at home at 2:45 p.m. Oct. 12, 2013.
Surviving are his wife, Betty; two daughters, Diana (Dennis) De Marco, Cindy (Michael) Jernigan; and a son, Dan (Karen) Ginther.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 at the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester. Visitation is Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and an hour prior to his service Wednesday. Burial will follow in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.

PLYMOUTH — Martha I. Bunton Messman, 87, a resident of Plymouth, passed at her home Thursday morning, Oct. 10, 2013.
Born in Walkerton on Feb. 22, 1926, Martha was the daughter of Charles Norman and Laura E. (Barnes) Pointon. She attended LaPorte High School.
Martha married Warren A. Bunton on Nov. 16, 1946 in LaPorte. The couple moved from LaPorte to Plymouth in 1969. Warren would precede her in death on March 21, 1989.
She worked for Hehr International as a production line worker for 17 years before her retirement in 1987.

BOURBON — Florence Faulkner, 89, of Bourbon, formerly of Atwood, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at 12:40 a.m. in Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home of Plymouth.
Surviving are three daughters; Sharon (Larry) Lemler of Bourbon, Connie (Jerry) Lozier of Tippecanoe, Jackie (James) White of Hunt, Texas; a son Terry (Bev) Faulkner of Winona Lake; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
There will be no services at this time. A private family burial ceremony will take place.
Burial will follow in Sand Ridge Cemetery, Bourbon.

BOCA RATON, Fla. — Margaret Koch, 100, of Boca Raton, Fla., passed away on Oct. 1, 2013.
Margaret was born March 10, 1913 in Indianapolis. She attended Colorado Springs High School and went on to Butler University in Indianapolis, graduating in 1933 with a BA and a major in business. Margaret married Major Robert Koch (U.S. Army) on Feb. 2, 1946 at her parents’ home in Indianapolis.

PLYMOUTH — Myrtle E. McFarland, 95, of Plymouth died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth.
She is survived by four daughters, Hazel Keathley of Lake Station, Stella Hughes, Alice (Bill) Blount of LaPaz, and Ann (John) Hall of Plymouth; 14 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lester Burgess of Tennessee.
The Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen is assisting the family with arrangements.

PLYMOUTH — Terry L. Rush, age 63, of Plymouth, passed away at 4:20 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013. He had been ill for the past 15 years and unable to work.
Terry was born Oct. 28, 1949, in Plymouth, to Edward and Audrey (Wright) Rush. Terry married the former Cathy Six on July 17, 1969, in Lakeville. He owned and operated Rush Construction Company and Rush Hour Photography, in Plymouth. He also helped with the construction of the “back 9” at the former Rushmore Golf Course, now Plymouth Rock Golf Course.
