WINONA LAKE — Evelyn Lucille Hamell, age 91, of Winona Lake and formerly of Syracuse passed away at 11:10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013 at Grace Village Health Care of Winona Lake.
She was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 46 years where she was a homemaker and attended Christ’s Covenant Church of Warsaw. Evelyn worked for a number of years as a cook and housekeeper for Eli Lilly in Syracuse.

DAVIE, Fla. — Robert C. Smith, 85, of Davie, Fla., formerly of Mentone, died at 8:36 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 at Vitas Hospice North Shore Medical Center, Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter Sara Jo (Sal) Murria of Davie, Fla.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. Funeral is at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mentone Cemetery.

Nova was born Aug. 17, 1930 in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Hugh M. and Esther (French) Cobb.

BREMEN — Linda Cheryl (Stephey) Hinkle, 68, of Bremen died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013 at the Community Hospital of Bremen.
She is survived by her husband, Pastor Gary Hinkle of Bremen; a daughter, Christi (Matt) Weston of Kouts; a son, Dwight (Jennifer) Hinkle of O’Fallon, Mo.; three grandchildren; and four sisters, Donna Jean (Robert) Eagle, Janice Bridges, Glenice (Fred) Becknell and Karen (Larry) Miller.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at Bremen Missionary Church. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery.

MILFORD — Marilyn “Sue” Wolferman, 81, of Milford passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at her residence. She was born Feb. 26, 1932 in Fort Wayne to Otto and Elva (Charlton) Wiggs. She married Donald P. Wolferman on Aug. 20, 1950; he preceded her in death Dec. 20, 2008.

PLYMOUTH — Fannie S. Partain, 79, of Plymouth passed away on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013 at 12:55 p.m. in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth.
Fannie was born on a hill in Wynne, Ark. on Sept. 12, 1934 to John J. and Sarah Irene Evans Dobbins. She attended grade school in Arkansas.
She married Leeman Franklin Smith in 1952 in Arkansas. In her early years, she worked for Addison Shoe Factory in Arkansas. She then married Bobby Floyd Partain. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1974.

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. — Walter L. Salyer, 77, of Hot Springs Village passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 at a local hospital. Walter was born Oct. 12, 1936 to Wishard and Ruby (Hall) Salyer in Salyersville, Ky.
Walter served in the U.S. Army, he was an avid golfer, he enjoyed poker, cribbage, and he loved the Packers.

BLOOMINGTON — A Funeral Mass for former Culver resident, Margaret Jane “Peg” Paschal Lewis, 89, is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 400 N. Center St., Plymouth with Rev. Thomas E. Haynes officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the parish hall.
She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Lewis, their five children: Andrew, Jane (Richard), David, Peter (Tammy), and Megan (Chris) along with 10 grandchildren.
