BOURBON — Richard DeVon Craig, 68, a resident of Bourbon, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 at 1:55 a.m. in his home with family by his side.
DeVon was born the son of James Earl Craig and Gertrude Marie Bailey Craig at Plymouth on March 16, 1945. He was a lifelong resident of the Bourbon area and a graduate of Bourbon High School class of 1963. He was retired from R.R. Donnelly and Sons of Warsaw as a Pressman, retiring in 2007 and a member of Bourbon First United Methodist Church.

PLYMOUTH — Bessie M. Holl, 82, a Marshall County resident since 1950, passed away at 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.
The daughter of Albert W. and Maxine Hankins Pigg, Bessie was born in Terre Haute on March 21, 1931. She graduated from Indiana State High School in 1949.
That following year, Bessie married George R. Holl Sr. in Terre Haute on Jan. 29, 1950. He would precede her in death on Dec. 6, 2007.

MENTONE — Robert C. Smith, 85, of Davie, Fla. and formerly of Mentone, died at 8:36 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 at Florida Medical Center of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
He was born May 28, 1928 in Kosciusko County to Max M. and Winifred (Tucker) Smith.
On Oct. 21, 1950 in Mentone he married Barbara J. Cooper; she survives.

PLYMOUTH — Bette Jeanne Buchanan, 86, died at 12:10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, in the Catherine Kasper Life Center at Donaldson.
Bette was born in Alexandria, Minn., on Feb. 11, 1927. She was the daughter of Frederick A. and Edna Margaret Pollack Kapphahn. Bette graduated from Cathedral High School in St. Cloud, Minn.
On Aug. 7, 1950, in St. Cloud, Minn., Bette and Leonard Kay Buchanan were joined in Holy Matrimony. After 37 spiritually inspiring years together and raising a family of five children, Kay passed away on June 1, 1987.

BREMEN — Pauline E. Wakeland, 92, passed away surrounded by her family at 4:02 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
The daughter of Roy Gilbert and Matilda A. Barbknecht Harvey, Pauline was born July 17, 1921 in Hamlet. She graduated from Hamlet Davis in 1939.

WARSAW — Douglas Leroy Mayer, 61, of Warsaw passed away at 9:54 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.
He was a Research Lab Technologist for Zimmer, Inc. of Warsaw, working there from 1975 until his retirement in 2006. Douglas was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County where he was a 1970 graduate of Pierceton High School. He then attended and received his bachelor’s degree in 1974 from Grace College of Winona Lake.

WALKERTON — Bobby C. Ramsey, 72, died in the home of his son Monday, Oct. 28, 2013.
Survivors include three sons, Ronald (Geraldine) Ramsey of Walkerton, Robert (Sherri) Ramsey of St. John, Richard (Dina) Ramsey of West Plains, Mo.; one sister, Rosie Gould of Newburgh; one half-brother, Timmy Robinson of Evansville and eight grandchildren.

INDIANAPOLIS — John A. Buswell, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away Oct. 26, 2013. He was born Dec. 13, 1927 in Culver to the late Samuel Herbert and Lillie Mae Seese Buswell.
John served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II. During the Korean War, he was with the MCB6 Battalion. He was employed at Indiana Bell, retiring in 1986 and was a member of the Pioneers of America.

BURR OAK, Mich. — Robert R. (Bob) Wolfinger, age 91, passed away Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 at his home. Bob was born in Constantine, Mich. on Oct. 27, 1921, a son of Samson and Amanda (Smith) Wolfinger. Bob attended school in Constantine, Mich. and served in the U.S. Army during WW II serving in the European Campaign in Africa, Sicily and Italy. On July 19, 1947 Bob married Evelyn L. Sawyer in Syracuse. She preceded him in death Feb. 22, 1993. On April 4, 2009 he married Josephine (Mull) Stevens in Sturgis, Mich.
