James V. Miracle

CULVER — James V. Miracle, 95, of Culver, died Dec. 11, 2012 in Plymouth.
He is survived by his daughter, Laura Oatney of Wilmette, Ill.; sons, Thomas Y. Miracle of Culver and Jay Miracle of Los Angeles, Calif., and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Culver Masonic Cemetery. Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. at the Culver Academy Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the Culver Educational Foundation in memory of James V. Miracle, 1300 Academy Road #153, Culver, IN 46511.
Casimir Chrzan

BREMEN — Casimir Chrzan, 81, of Bremen, passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at his home. He was born to Casimir and Clara Chrzan on Dec. 1, 1931 in South Bend. On Feb. 3, 1984 Casimir married JoAnn Shaw; she survives.
Casimir worked for Uniroyal for 37 1/2 years and filling many positions over the years. He enjoyed woodworking, building bird houses, fishing, traveling, and just tinkering in general. Casimir also enjoyed his winters in Florida and loved spending time with his family.
Mona R. Bryan

PLYMOUTH — Mona R. Bryan, 84, formerly of Argos, passed away in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013.
Born in Dana on July 3, 1928, she was the daughter of Elver Roy and Julia Kay (Hunt) Newlin.
She attended schools in Newport, finishing the 10th grade in the Newport High School in 1944.
Mona was married to Wallace Eugene Bryan.
Devoted to her family and friends, they were the crux of her life. She will be sorely missed by them all.

BOURBON — Mrs. Phyllis E. Kuhn, age 84, of Bourbon, passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home of Plymouth in the care of her family.
Janice M. Murfitt
Feb. 14, 1920 – Jan. 30, 2013
PLYMOUTH — Janice M. Murfitt, 92, a Plymouth resident since 1941, passed away Wednesday morning at 4 a.m. Jan. 30, 2013 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth.
Janice was born in Bristol, S.D. on Feb. 14, 1920 to Melvin C. and Alea Madge (Bunn) Wagner. She graduated from Goshen High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in education from Goshen College, and soon after, she received her master’s in education from Indiana University.
On Feb. 25, 1940, she married Edward L. Murfitt in South Bend. He preceded her in death May 3, 1984.
