PLYMOUTH — Charles “Bill” Baker, 85, of Plymouth, passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at 5:55 a.m., at Miller’s Merry Manor, in Plymouth.Â
Bill was born June 8, 1927, in Plymouth, to Samuel and Edna (Switzer) Baker. Bill and Martha A. Roahrig were married Feb. 4, 1950, in Bourbon. Bill worked for the American Breeders Association and also raised his own cattle on his farm. He served on the Marshall County Soil and Conservation Board.
Edith Annette Bentley Strait

CULVER — Edith Annette Bentley Strait passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at her winter home in San Benito, Texas one week after her 106th birthday. Edith, a long time resident of Culver, was the only child of George and Annette Marshall Bentley. She was born Oct. 17, 1906 at Walled Lake, Mich. She began her education in a one-room school and attended high school in Pontiac, Mich. In 1928, she graduated with honors from Albion College in Michigan where she met and married her loving husband Walter.

KNOX — Lucille M. Drane, 65, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
Survivors include: three brothers, David Drane of Winamac, Donald Whitesell of Florida and Willard Whitesell Jr. of Plymouth; one sister, Violet Nelson of Oregon; and one sister-in-law, Hilda Wacasey of Knox.

HAMLET — Marjorie E. Scherf, 73, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 at IU Health LaPorte Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Milton; one daughter, Melissa (David) Gates of Kewanna; two sons, Paul (Denise) Scherf of Dallas, Texas and Peter (Rhonda) Scherf of Michigan City; seven grandchildren and one sister, Patricia (Duke) Harms of Illinois.
