ROCHESTER â Harold D. Gardner, 92, of Rochester, formerly of Argos, died Nov. 13, 2012 at 9:35 p.m. at Life Care Center of Rochester. He had been in declining health for a couple of years.
He was born Dec. 26, 1919 in Tyner to Ben and Blanche (Sponseller) Gardner. He lived in the Argos community all of his adult life.
He first married Caroline Sinclair who preceded in 1958; he then married Velma Smith Dec. 23, 1960 in Akron.
He was a farmer and worked at Studebaker as a pressman.

WINONA LAKE â Aleta M. Montague, 66, a Warsaw-Winona Lake resident most of her life, died in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at 10:57 a.m., following a brief illness.
Born in Detroit, Mich. Sept. 27, 1946, Aleta was the daughter of Winston G. and Anna Marie King Montague.
She was a 1964 graduate of Triton High School, Bourbon.
Aleta had worked at R.R. Donnelley in Warsaw as a machine operator, retiring in 2011.

PLYMOUTH â Ruth A. Roose, 101, of Plymouth died Nov. 15, 2012 at 4:08 a.m. at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home.
Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Van Gilder Funeral Home, Plymouth, where funeral services will immediately follow at 3 p.m.
Burial will be at New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Van Gilder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

NAPLES, Fla. â Mary Ann (Underwood) Summy, born Jan. 5, 1926 in Plymouth, died, Nov. 13, 2012.
She was married to her loving husband, Russell D. (Ward) Summy in 1945. He preceded her in death in 1986. She is survived by son, Gary (Laurie) Summy and daughter, Susan (Jim) Mishler. Four grandchildren were the love and joy of her life; Kathryn Mishler and Emily (Mishler) Rupchock, and Kyle and Gregory Summy.

PLYMOUTH â Annabel Long, 95, a lifelong Marshall County resident, formerly of Plymouth, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 in the Lakeland Regional Medical Center from complications due to a fall. Annabel, who had resided at the Lake of the Woods for more than 30 years moved to Lakeland to live with her daughter Joan in June of 2011.

KEWANNA â Barbara J. Gast, 84, of Kewanna, passed away at 8:06 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at Life Care Center of Rochester.
Born March 10, 1928 in Peru, she was the daughter of the late Arvin and Hazel (Greer) Carr. July 8, 1970, she married Jon S. Gast, he survives.
She was a 1946 Kewanna High School graduate.
Barb formerly worked at Switches in Leiters Ford and also Hart- Schaffner Marx in Rochester. She also provided child care for many children over the years.
She was a member of Kewanna United Methodist Church.

CULVER â Tom Tryon, 69, of Culver died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012.
He is survived by his wife, Johnnie; son, Guy (Linda) Tryon of Kouts; daughter, Cindy (Mike) Mitsch of Culver; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his mother, Dorothy; two brothers, Gary (Carol) Tryon and Billy (Sue) Tryon; and one sister, Martha Ann Tryon.
Visitation is at the Odom Funeral Home, Culver, Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012 from 12 to 2 p.m.; luncheon to immediately follow at the Culver Beach Lodge. Memorials may be made to the Ehlerâs Danlos National Foundation.

KNOX â Jennifer K. Holtzman, 56, of Knox, died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 at the VNA Hospice Center, Valparaiso.
She is survived by her husband, Milton of Knox; her sons, Gary L. Irons of Plymouth and James D. Irons of Illinois; five stepsons, including Patrick of Knox; her sister Gerry (David) Diggs of Va.; and numerous grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
