ARGOS âÂ Harold âCurlyâ Dean Stevens, 73, of Argos died April 20, 2012 at 8:26 a.m. at his residence following a sudden illness.
He was born Oct. 2, 1938 in Red Wine, Ky. to Sanford and Elizabeth (Hill) Stevens. He lived in the Argos community since 1955. Dec. 9, 1960 in Rochester he married Verna Lou Bear.

TYNER âÂ Jeff C. Whitmer, 49, residing in Tyner, passed away at 3:15 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Elkhart General Hospital after a short illness. Jeff was born Sept. 4, 1962 in South Bend and has been a lifelong area resident. He was self-employed specializing in the drywall business.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; three daughters, Carol Bracich of Hamlet, Pat Nieubuurt of Milford and Chris Palmer of Walkerton; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

PLYMOUTH âÂ Richard Rex Bean, 70, a resident of King Road, Bremen, died following a valiant battle against cancer. A longtime public accountant, he passed away at 5:30 a.m., Friday, April 20, 2012, in the comfort of his home and family.
Dick was born in South Sioux City, Iowa March 23, 1942 the son of Rex and Esther Beam.

He is survived by his parents, Jeremy and Gabrielle Orbik; his brother, Timothy Orbik; and his grandparents, Jackie and Robert Silveus and Barbara and Kent Springman.

BOURBON âÂ Don, a beloved son, was born Aug. 2, 1923 in Wabash to the late Elmer and Bessie (Collins) Wampler. He received exceptional care and passed away in the home of his loving son, Don Wampler, wife Rebecca and other family members. He was loved by all.
He was a World War II veteran jet mechanic and proud to serve his country. He received his World War II Victory Medal, Honorable Service, Marksman Badge and Carbine Bar. He was a member of the American Legion and affiliated with the Atwood Christian Fellowship Church.

ROCHESTER âÂ Gilbert G. Rich, 85, of Argos passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 9:34 p.m. in Woodlawn Hospital at Rochester.
Gilbert was born the son of Edward Rich and Emma Haehnel Rich Feb. 22, 1927 at Leroy. He was a resident of Argos the past 48 years. He was a truck driver hauling steel. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of the Bourbon American Legion Post #424 and Marshall County Farm Bureau. In his spare time he enjoyed working with rocks, polishing them and making various kinds of jewelry.
