PLYMOUTH — Catharine “Katie” Lee, 88, a former resident of Plymouth, died at 10:40 a.m. Monday at Heritage Health in Peru, Ill.
Katie was born in Akron, the daughter of Burr and Mary “Beam” Day. Katie moved to Plymouth in 1931 where she attended Lincoln High School.
Sept. 8, 1943 in Plymouth, Katie married Virgil Lee. Virgil died Oct.12, 1982.
She was employed by Bosworth’s Bridal Shop in Plymouth for 25 years.

PLYMOUTH — Betty Jean (Wilson) Heiden, 71, passed away in Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth, at 3:55 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2012.
Born in Plymouth April 8, 1940, Betty was the daughter of Donald S. and Mary C. (Richard) Splix.
A lifetime Plymouth resident, she was raised in the Roman Catholic faith and graduated from Plymouth High School. 
Betty was first married to William D. Wilson. She then married Carl F. Heiden June 25, 1983 in Plymouth. Carl died Nov. 26, 1996.
Betty, a homemaker, was also a teacher’s aide at Washington School.

NAPPANEE — James L. Slabaugh, 63, of 402 Northwood Circle, Nappanee, died at 1:02 p.m., Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at Lakeland Loving Care Center, Milford after an extended illness.
Surviving are his daughter, Tammy Jo (Terry Witcher) Francis, Bristol; his mother, June L. Slabaugh, Nappanee; four grandchildren; and brothers, Russell Dean (Peggy) Slabaugh, Lake Zurich, Ill., Steve Slabaugh, Nappanee, and Michael (Shirley) Slabaugh, Hindman, Ky.
