PLYMOUTH ‚ÄĒ Everett Eugene Helmuth, 51, of Plymouth died at his home of an apparent heart attack Dec. 16, 2012.
Surviving are his stepmother, Edna Helmuth, Bremen; brothers, Lyle (Betty) Helmuth, Shipshewana, Wayne (Erma) Helmuth, Bremen; and sisters, Rose (Dannie Ray) Bontrager, Shipshewana, Lynette (Arlin) Bontrager, Goshen.
Visitation is after 2 p.m., Saturday at the family residence (3055 Birch Road). Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m., Sunday at the Dennis Hochstetler residence (2735 Birch Road). Burial will be in Weldy Cemetery.

CULVER ‚ÄĒ¬†Verla Marie (Greenawalt) Gill, resident of Jemison, Ala., died of natural causes in association with a long battle with Alzheimer‚Äôs, at Miller‚Äôs Merry Manor in Culver, at 12:03 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, with family by her side.

TIPPECANOE ‚ÄĒ Harold Walter, 87, who was a resident of rural Tippecanoe, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at Kosciusko Community Hospital.
Harold was born to William F. and Naomi Sims Walter on April 10, 1925 at Valparaiso. He was joined in marriage to Irma ‚ÄúSally‚ÄĚ DeWitt on Nov. 6, 1949.

BREMEN ‚ÄĒ Herbert Kline, 90, of Bremen, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at his home. He was born Aug. 18, 1922 to Melvin and Arvilla (Rector) Kline in Union Township. Herbert married Frieda F. Weil on Jan. 6, 1942.
Herbert was a member of St. Paul‚Äôs Lutheran Church in Woodland. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and watching the Colts and the Cubs play. He also loved spending winters in Texas.

Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Van Gilder Funeral Home. Funeral will follow at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth, on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 at 2 p.m.
Van Gilder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

ROCHESTER ‚ÄĒ¬†Hollis D. France, 69, of Rochester died unexpectedly at 11:35 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012 in his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Donna of Rochester; his son, Thomas J. (Michelle) France of Rochester; his daughter, Michele A. (Travis) Brock of Olmsted Falls, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and his sister, Lorraine (Boyd) Alderfer of Florida.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.

ELKHART ‚ÄĒ¬†Kathleen ‚ÄúKathy‚ÄĚ L. Sayer, 67, of Elkhart, (formerly of South Bend) passed away at 1:55 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, in her home.
She was born Oct. 31, 1945 to Norman T. and Lola Mae ‚ÄúJo‚ÄĚ (Gilmore) Compton in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.¬†
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Norman T. Compton; stepfather, Clyde Wise; mother-in-law, Irma Sayer; and an older sister, Nancy (Joe) Chmiel.
On Nov. 11, 1987, as Kathleen L. Compton, she married Ronald D. Sayer in South Bend.

CULVER ‚ÄĒ¬†Wilma Murphy, 100, passed away Friday morning, Dec. 21, 2012, after an illness.¬†
Wilma was born Aug. 17, 1912 in Pulaski County. She graduated from Winamac High School in 1930. She worked at Ball Band in South Bend, until her marriage to William on May 6, 1935. She was employed in the Pulaski County Courthouse in the CFA in 1944. She then worked for the County Auditor and Surveyor until she took employment at the First Union Bank and Trust Company, Winamac until her retirement in 1974.¬†

She is survived by her husband, Larry; a daughter, Melissa Owsley of Selma; a son, Darrin (Kyong) Mikesell of Ft. Wayne; five grandchildren; two sisters, Marilyn (Joe) Varnadore of North Beach, Md., Shirley Farrell Estep of Charleston, W.V.; and two brothers, Everett Henderson of Akron, Jerry (Beverly) Henderson of Denver, N.C.
