BREMEN — Laurene J. Gunterman, 88, of Bremen, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 at the Bremen Health Care Center. She was born June 1, 1923 in Plymouth to James and Marie (Tallant) Gilbert. She was married to Anthony Gunterman, who preceded her in death in 1975.
Laurene was a lifelong area resident. She was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Bremen, Plymouth Moose Ladies Aux., and previous member of the Rosary Sadality. Laurene was a natural, loving caregiver to both her family and those in need.

LEITERS FORD — Marjorie R. Albright, 87, of rural Leiters Ford, formerly of Argos, died Nov. 28, 2011 at 2:10 p.m. at her residence following a several month illness.
She was born June 7, 1924 in Plymouth to Charles and Fern (Nellans) Ferguson. She lived most of her life in the Argos community.
July 18, 1942, Glendyn C. Albright and Marjorie R. (Ferguson) were married and shared 64 years together. He preceded her in death Aug. 11, 2006.

ARGOS — Ken A. Herrick, 59, died at 12:22 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, at his home in Argos from natural causes.
Surviving is a son, Ryan Herrick of Fort Wayne; daughter, Cassie Labeau, Etna Green; one grandson; sisters, Nancy (Jeff) Planck of New Castle, and Sue Herrick of Silver Lake.
Cremation has taken place, and the family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 2 to Sunday, Dec. 4, at Sue Herrick’s home, 10417 S 675 W, Silver Lake, IN 46982. Memorial contributions may be given to the Ken Herrick Memorial Fund.

PLYMOUTH — Phyllis M. (Deacon) Guthrie, 81, of 11024 E. 11th Road, Plymouth died at 2:45 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at her home.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Pete) Babendrager of Plymouth, Sharon (Mike) Bryant of Plymouth, and Diana (John) Harness of Shelbyville; her sons, Larry (Kay) Deacon of Bremen, Robert Deacon of Plymouth, and David Deacon of Plymouth; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her sister Willodean Gilupker of Saint Joseph, Mich.; and her brother, John (Betty) Stull of Tyner.

South Bend, died at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at her
home.
Victoria is survived by her sisters, Elizabeth Torok of
South Bend; Eve Guseilla of Rocky River, Ohio; and
Margaret Winsted of Chicago.
Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 28, from 11 a.m. to 1
p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St.,
Plymouth.
Services will be Monday, Nov. 28, at 1 p.m., at the Van
Gilder Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Saint Michael Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorials may be given to Saint Michael Catholic

PLYMOUTH — Charles G. Moore, 82, passed away
Wednesday afternoon at his home on Emerald Court,
Plymouth. He had been in declining health over the past
few years but was able to remain
mobile and at home with the loving
care of his wife Jan and family.
Born Dec. 10, 1928 in Indianapolis
he was the son of Charles Everett
Moore and Catherine Campbell
Galbraith Moore. Charles graduated
from Emmanuel High School
in Indianapolis.
From 1951 to 1953 he served in
the U.S. Army stationed in Europe
and attained corporal. His father

BOURBON — Iola M. Mayfield, 87, of 420 E. Center St., Bourbon, died at 3:42 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 23, at her residence after a long illness.
She is survived by daughters, Phyllis Irene Atkinson, Bourbon and Darlene (Henry) Berda, Morrisville, Vt., seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. EST at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville.

SUNNYSIDE, Wash. — Francis J. Wattenbarger, 90, caring father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully Nov. 22, 2011 after a brief illness. Francis was a longtime resident and farmer in the Glade Community in the Horse Heaven Hills of Southern Washington.

PLYMOUTH — Sherry Jane Long, 52, died peacefully at her home Wednesday morning in the company of her family and assisted care of hospice volunteers. A lifetime Marshall County resident, Sherry has resided on King Road in Plymouth for the past 11 years. She was diagnosed with cancer April 8, 2010.
Sherry was born Jan. 19, 1959, the daughter of Duane W. and Sandra Lee (Dick) Hurford. She was a graduate of LaVille High School in 1977, where she played in the band.

CULVER — Jack B Kowatch, 89, of North Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Culver, passed away Nov. 20, 2011 at 7:15 a.m. in the Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Fla.
Jack was born Nov. 29, 1921 in Culver. He was one of six children born to John and Vada (Burch) Kowatch. Jack was married to Catherine Thornburg. Together they raised their daughter Sondra. Catherine preceded Jack in death in 1980.  Jack later fell in love and married Joyce Mikesell, Sept. 4, 1983 at the Maxinkuckee Country Club in Culver.
