GROVERTOWN â€”Â Dennis L. Smith, 56, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011 in his home.
Survivors include his father, Harold Smith of Grovertown; and one sister, Diana Stacy of Knox.Â
Funeral services were Monday at 11 a.m. CDT at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. Burial will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery, LaCrosse. Visitation was Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Monday after 10 a.m. until the time of services. To leave online condolences go to rannellsfuneralhome.com.

NORTH LIBERTY â€” Gloria Deane Kotal, 76, of North Liberty passed away at 3:55 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011 in Millerâ€™s Merry Manor, New Carlisle after a long illness. She was born Sept. 5, 1934 in Gary to Joseph J. and Rose E. (Carrico) Valovich.

PLYMOUTH â€”Â Rosemary Kaufman, 88, a River Park resident in Plymouth, passed away at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011 at her home in the care of her family and the Center for Hospice Care. She resided in the Plymouth area her entire life.
Rosemary was born in LaPaz Nov. 24, 1922. She was the daughter of Harley and Pearl Sarber.
Oct. 12, 1941, in LaPaz, Rosemary and Dale Kaufman were married. They lived in the Plymouth area their entire lives.
Rosemary was a dedicated housewife and mother and helped with the Standard Oil business.

PLYMOUTH â€” Cecil Richard â€śDickâ€ť Hayden, 84, a resident of Plymouth since August, 1967, died after a brief battle with cancer on Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at 3:10 p.m. in Pilgrim Manor, Plymouth.
Known as both C.R. and Dick, he was born in Lowell, Indiana on December 29, 1926, the son of Fred V. and Marian J. (Nelson) Hayden.

PLYMOUTH â€”Â George L. Hill, 88, 1002 Red Maple Drive, a resident of Plymouth for the past 14 years, died of natural causes at 6:10 p.m. in the Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011.
George was born in Davenport, Okla., July 23, 1923. He was the son of Herbert Clinton Hill and Cynthia â€śAliceâ€ť Manning.
In 1943, George enlisted in the Army Air Force. He was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant in May of 1946.

PLYMOUTH â€”Â Katie Pike, 89, of 328 Conger St., Plymouth, passed away of natural causes after a lengthy illness at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at the home of her daughter, Delores Dipert.
Katie was born in Monterey, Oct. 27, 1921, to Richard and Anna Smith Ludwig.
She was married to John Hall in the mid-1930s and was blessed with two children.
In 1943, Katie was married to Claude Pike and had five more wonderful children.

NAPPANEE â€”Â Edna Schwartz, 10495 W 1350 N, Nappanee, age 89, died at 4 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 25, at her home.
Surviving are daughters, Ruby Schwartz, Wilma Schwartz, Nancy Fern Schwartz, all of Nappanee, Linda Sue (David H.) Miller, Bremen; sons, Ervin (Carol) Schwartz, LaVern (Carolyn) Schwartz, and Earl Ray (Marietta) Schwartz, all of Nappanee, Allen (Mary Ellen) Schwartz, Milford, and Jerry Lee (Betty) Schwartz, Shipshewana, 31 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren, and brothers, William (Mary) Chupp, Bremen and Edward (Alta) Chupp, Nappanee.
