Avis Rose Riddle

SOUTH BEND — Avis Rose Riddle, 92, of South Bend died July 7, 2011.
She is survived by three sons, Roger (Carol) Riddle, Loren (Candie) Riddle and Larry (Betsy) Riddle; four grandchildren and two great grandsons.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011 in the Lakeville United Methodist Church, 610 N. Michigan St., Lakeville. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the church and one hour prior to the services.
Palmer Funeral Home-Lakeville is handling the arrangements.
Eugene R. Christiansen

PLYMOUTH — Longtime Plymouth resident, Eugene R. Christiansen, 89, passed to his eternal home at 7:20 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011 in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne from complications of a stroke last Sunday evening. He had recently moved to Kingston at Dupont — Memory Care Unit in Fort Wayne. Since 2003, Gene had resided at Grace Village at Winona Lake, but no matter where Gene Christiansen resided, he instilled in others his true sense of community and it was never greater than while he called Plymouth his home.

Lucile Irene Maxson

PLYMOUTH — Lucile Irene Maxson, 95, a resident of River Park, Plymouth, passed away at 12:35 p.m. Monday, July 4, 2011, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.
Lucile was born in Kosciusko County April 1, 1916. She was the daughter of Ray and Zelda Sumpter Thomas. She attended LaPaz High School.
May 5, 1934, Lucile and Russell L. Maxson were married. Russell died in August of 1988. Lifetime Marshall County resident, she was a homemaker, and a farmer’s wife and for 12 years she drove a school bus.

KOONTZ LAKE — Donald J. Knop, 81, died Sunday, July 3, 2011 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Survivors include one son, William Knop of Koontz Lake; two grandchildren; and one sister, Marilyn (Tom) Kasper of Orland Park, Ill.

KOONTZ LAKE — Richard “Rick” H. Cormican, 56, died Friday, July 1, 2011 in his home.
Survivors include three sisters, Sharon Coldiron of South Bend, Janet Coldiron of LaPorte, and Penny Maloney of Knox; and one brother, James Cormican Jr. of Mishawaka.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. CDT at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Burial will be at the Grovertown Cemetery.
Mary D. Leininger
Nov. 29, 1918-July 2, 2011
PLYMOUTH — Mary D. Leininger, 92, of 4th Road, Plymouth and formerly of rural Akron died at 4:18 p.m., Saturday, July 2, 2011 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.
She was born Nov. 29, 1918 in Fulton County to Omer L. Miller and Pearl Zimmerman.
Nov. 28, 1937 in Rochester, she married Marion E. Leininger who passed Jan. 22, 2000.
Mary was a homemaker, cook, and farmed along side her husband. She also was the cook at the Rochester Sale Barn for many years.

BREMEN — Virginia May Julian, 89, of Bremen died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at her residence.
Survivors include daughters, Kathy Barts of Bremen, Lisa (Paul) Carothers of Bremen, and Cynthia “Cindy” (Michael) Hickey of Bremen; three sons, David (Peggy) Julian of Lafayette, Rick (Pam) Julian of Tennessee, and Mark Julian of Tennessee; 37 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (605 S. Center St., Bremen). Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery.
Sergeant Jason Lee Nemeth

PLYMOUTH — Sergeant Jason Lee Nemeth, 26, died at his residence 10734 Muckshaw Road, Plymouth at 12:42 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011.
Jason was born in South Bend Nov. 29, 1984, the son of Timothy and Diana O’Hara Nemeth.
He graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 2003, and from Ball State University with a B.S. in Criminal Justice in 2008.
He joined the Army Sept. 12, 2006, and was still active with the Indiana Army National Guard.
Jason was employed with the Marshall County Sheriff’s office.
