WALKERTON — Betty Lou Schmeltz, 71, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010 in her home.

BREMEN — Frances L. Hesch, 86, of Bremen passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010 at the Community Hospital of Bremen. She was born Oct. 30, 1923 in Kosciusko County to Alfonzo and Stella Zentz. She was married to William P. Hesch, who preceded her in death in 1981.
Frances worked for Selmer Company in Elkhart and enjoyed playing euchre. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Woodland.
Survivors include son Rick (Gina) Hesch of Lakeville, daughter Pam (Dale Klapp) Berkey of Bremen, 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

GRANGER — William “Bill” N. Martin, 71, of Granger, passed away at 1:41 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
He was born Feb. 2, 1939 in Indianapolis, to William H. and Florence E. (Day) Martin. On June 7, 1970 in Vietnam, he married Kim (Hoang Thi Kim) Martin, who survives.
He is also survived by daughter, Audrey (John) Cavinder of Plymouth; four grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Veronica and Stephanie; and brother, Ken Martin of Quincy, Ind.

 WALKERTON — Helen Irene DeForest, 80, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
Survivors include two brothers, Russell (Stella) Frazier of South Bend and Daniel (Phyllis) Frazier of Walkerton and 11 nieces and eleven nephews.

Hibbard – Irene B. Listenberger, 79, of Hibbard, passed away at 4:48 a.m. Sept 21, 2010 at Our Lady of Peace Hospital in Mishawaka.
Irene was born July 25, 1931 near Hibbard. She was one of six children born to Floyd and Lavina (Rosebaum) Triplet. She attended school in Hibbard.Â
Irene then fell in love and married Ward “Bud” Listenberger on Jan 31, 1948 in Hibbard. Together they raised four children. Ward preceded her in death in November 1989.

ROCHESTER — Betty Colacicco, 82, of Rochester, died at 10:50 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, 2010 at Hickory Creek of Rochester. Â
She is survived by sons:Â William Steelman of Philadelphia, Penn., Ron Steelman of Rochester, Anthony Colacicco of Rochester; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; and a niece.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23 at the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester.

PLYMOUTH – Patti J. Cox, 51, of 13616 6C Road died unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, Penn.
She was born Nov. 11, 1958 in South Bend, to David L. and Wilma Jean McGowan. Patti was a 1977 graduate of LaVille High School and attended college in Pittsburg, Pa., before graduating from Michiana College of Commerce.
April 19, 1980 in Lakeville, she married Jeffrey R. Cox; he died Feb. 22, 2008.
Patti worked for 16 years as a medical assistant at South Bend Orthopedic.

BREMEN — Patti Jean Cox, 51, of Plymouth, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, Penn.
She is survived by a son, Christopher (Jessica) Cox of Fort Mill, S.C.; a sister, Suzanne (David) Adams of Lakeville; brother, Dr. Jack (Rose) McGowan, Montgomery, Texas; sister-in-law, Joetta (Greg) Balsley of Plymouth; brother-in-law, Jerry (Cindy) Cox of Plymouth; and father-in-law, James Cox of Bremen.

PLYMOUTH — Richard K. “Dick” Reese, 81, a resident of 10B Road for the past 56 years, died at his home Sunday evening following an illness. Dick has been a lifetime Marshall County resident.
He was born in Bremen, June 8, 1929 the son of David and Violet (Hepler) Reese.Â
Dick attended LaPaz High School and like many young men he enlisted in the armed forces with the desire to serve his Country. From January of 1947 until June of 1948 he served as a Tech 5 in the U.S. Army.
