WALKERTON — Dean Edward Anderson, 76, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010 in LaPorte Hospital, LaPorte, after an illness. 
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons, Keith (Kay) Anderson and Todd (Teri) Anderson, all of Walkerton; four grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Lotter of LaPorte.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. (Eastern Time) Wednesday, Oct. 13 and one hour prior to services Thursday at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, at the funeral chapel.

STURGIS, Mich. — Tracy K. Baca 32, of Sturgis, Mich., formerly of Rochester, passed away at 12:27 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010 in Sturgis, Mich.
She is survived by her children, Nadia Baca of Plymouth, and Alex Baca of Plymouth; parents, Chuck (Jane) Rupp of Akron, and Sharon (Mike) Clemans of Rochester; sisters, Hannah Rupp of Akron, and Tammy Tilton of Knox; a grandfather, James Rupp of Rochester; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. 
Graveside services will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester.

SUN LAKES, Ariz. — Robert Wayne Brockus, 73, of 26455 South Hogan Drive, Sun Lakes, Ariz., formerly of Culver and Argos, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010 at Saint Joseph Medical Center, Phoenix, Ariz.
He was born June 3, 1937 in Argos, to Buros and Margaret Maier Brockus and was later employed as a bank teller. Bob married Sharon Mowiser Dec. 29, 1957 at the Walnut Church of the Brethren in Argos. She survives.

PLYMOUTH — Michael E. Ritenour, 54, of 120 E. Monroe St., Plymouth, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at 11:58 a.m., at his home.
Mike was born April 23, 1956, in Bremen, to Elmer and Virginia (Thomas) Ritenour. Mike graduated from LaVille High School, in the Class of 1974. He worked at Young Door, as a production worker and at the Ferro Corporation, as a paint mixer. He was also a member of UAW Local #5. He drove stock car, #99, for three years at Capital Raceway in Plymouth, and was an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan.

She is survived by her husband, Lyman “Max” Hardesty; daughters, Beverly Beron Ault of Plymouth and Karen Hardesty Slone of Hamlet; sons: James Beron of Knox, Max Allen Hardesty of Knox and John Hardesty of Hamlet; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan Mapes of Bristol; and a brother, James (Kay) Seiders of Walkerton.

NILES, Mich. — Anna L. Low, 87, of Niles, Mich. died Monday, Oct. 4, 2010 in her home of natural causes.
She is survived by her sons: Kenneth (Patricia) McCain, Vern (Peggy) McCain and James G. McCain; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
There will be no visitation or services at this time.
Private family services will be held at a later date in the Parks Cemetery in Bourbon.
Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon, assisted the family with arrangements.

She is survived by daughters: Margaret Miller, Chicago, Ill., Araminta (Steve) Fites, Winamac, Eliza (Glenn) Brodbelt, Plymouth, and Mary Ann Sallee, Winamac; a son, Robbie Sallee, Merrillville; a sister, Antoinette (Don) Teutemacher of South Haven; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. (CT) Thursday, Oct. 7 at O’Donnell Funeral Home Inc., 302 Lane St., North Judson.

BREMEN — Mary Alice Flora Edgar, 75, of Bremen, died at 2:02 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, in Mishawaka. 
She is survived by her brothers, John (Margaret) Flora of Argos, and Louis Flora of Bremen; a nephew; and four nieces.
There will be no visitation or funeral services.

BREMEN – Nina C. Schafer, 95, lifetime Bremen area resident, died at 8:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 2010 at her residence.
Nina was born at home Aug. 10, 1915, the youngest of four children of Walter and Eva Kaiser Albert.
She was a 1933 graduate of LaPaz High School.
June 24, 1939, Nina and Howard E. “Bob” Schafer were married in South Bend. They bought their farm, where Nina was still living, Oct. 14, 1940. Howard died Nov. 4, 2009.

CULVER — Carol J. Garn, 66, of 212 1/2 N. Main St. Culver, passed away Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 at 8:35 a.m. in the Center for Hospice, Elkhart.
She was born in Argos, Dec. 12, 1943, to the late Lloyd L. and Isabelle M. Lamb Brockey. Carol was raised in Fulton County and was a proud graduate of Richland Center High School with the class of 1961. 
A year later, Carol graduated from Vogue Beauty School in South Bend. She worked at Ristance Products for several years.
