Lighting the Tree of Life

PLYMOUTH — The Auxiliary of
Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center -
Plymouth held a Tree Lighting Ceremony
in honor of loved ones.
Community members were invited to
donate $2 for an angel ornament representing
a loved one to be displayed
on the Tree of Life in the main lobby of
Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center’s
Plymouth Campus.
Proceeds from The Tree of Life will be
distributed by SJRMC’s Auxiliary toward
the work and service provided by the
hospital.

county commissioners approve zoning change

MARSHALL COUNTY — Marshall County Commissioners approved an application of a property owner in the Lake of the Woods to raise goats on his property as a 4-H project for his children. The property had previously been zoned for agricultural use.

John Glenn School Board to meet tonight

December 17, 2013

WALKERTON — The John Glenn School board will meet this evening at North Liberty Elementary School. One of the items on the agenda is Superintendent Richard Reese's contract, which includes a $10,000 raise. Public comments on the contract renewal are provided by state statute.

Snow continuing through late morning, afternoon

FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE -- Periods of snow will continue throughout the day as a series of disturbances move through the region. The snow will be heavy at times through early afternoon before slowly tapering off.

Total storm accumulations by early this evening are expected to range from 6-9 inches across the area.

Those traveling today should monitor local road conditions and be prepared to allow extra time to reach your destination.

Sentence handed down in meth manufacturing case

PLYMOUTH — Travis Howell will serve 15 years in prison on the charge of manufacturing methamphetamine and an additional year on an intimidation charge. The sentence was delivered Thursday in Superior Court.

Kosciusko County release identity of human remains

December 13, 2013

WARSAW— In a press release issued today, Kosciusko County authorities have released the name for the human remains found earlier this year in a wooded area on County Road 175 south of Warsaw.

"After an extensive investigation completed by the members of the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office, it has been concluded that the human remains are that of Aurora M. Shoemaker, whom had been reportedly missing since Aug. 16, 2012," said County Coroner Michael Wilson in the press release.
