•Philip Ryan Shriver, 29 of Plymouth was arrested by Plymouth Police at 1:10 p.m. on May 30 for possession of a controlled substance schedule I or II narcotic methamphetamine.
•Stephanie Jo Risher-Valdez, 37, of Plymouth was arrested by Plymouth Police at 1:25 p.m. on May 30 for possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia.
•Charles Derick Sanders, 24 or Bremen was arrested by Marshall County Sheriff's Department at 7:30 p.m. on May 30 for failure to appear.

•Jose Danilo Arita, 33 of Warsaw was arrested by Bremen Police at 4:08 p.m. on May 29 for operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license.
•Albert DeShawn Jones, 30 of South Bend was arrested by the Marshall County Sheriff's Department at 7:32 p.m. for failure to appear.
•Michael Richard Foster, 40 of Plymouth was arrested by the Marshall County Sheriff's Department at 11:45 p.m. on May 29 for domestic battery with a prior conviction.

•Mary Elizabeth Balboa, 31 of Plymouth was arrested by the Plymouth Police at 11:50 a.m. on May 24 for theft.
•Marco Tulio Padilla Lopez, 31 of Plymouth was arrested by Indiana State Police at 4:35 on May 24 for operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license, refusal to identify, identity deception, possible display of a fictitious suspended or altered drivers license use of false information on application for an ID card.
•Dereck Michael Pinkowski, 21 of Plymouth was arrested by Marshall County Sheriff's Department for a probation violation.

Purchase of Whitley plant confirmed

PLYMOUTH - The area got some positive economic news on Friday with the sale of Whitley Products to a Michigan based company - Aggressive Manufacturing Innovations or AMI.

"I can confirm that (AMI) has purchased the company and all of its remaining assets," said Kevin Smith a representative of AMI. "They just completed the sale and they are planning to re-open the Plymouth plant."

Smith said that he expected the company to be "operational to some degree" as early as next week but also said it would take some time before the company could become fully operational.

•Tara Latrice Lee, 22, of Plymouth was arrested by Plymouth Police at 11:23 a.m. on May 23 for assisting a criminal resisting a law enforcement officer.
•Jessalyn Taylor Matthews, 18, of Plymouth was arrested by Plymouth Police at 11:55 a.m. on May 23 for possession of methamphetamine.
•Jose Luis Miranda, 26, of Plymouth was arrested by Plymouth Police at 3:30 p.m. on May 23 for possession of marijuana.

•Israel Torres-Sanchez, 26, of Plymouth was arrested by Marshall County Sheriff's Department at 10:30 p.m. on May 22 for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, public intoxication and operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license.

•Lisa Ann Mitchell, 41, of Bremen was arrested by the Indiana State Police at 7:30 a.m. on May 21 for dealing, delivering and manufacturing methamphetamine.
•Jason Paul Kennedy, 37, of Plymouth was arrested by the Indiana State Police at 7:30 a.m. on May 21 for dealing, delivering and manufacturing methamphetamine.

Man's death in county jail due to natural causes

PLYMOUTH - An investigation into the death of an inmate in the Marshall County Jail has determined it was by natural causes.

Marshall County Prosecuting Attorney David R. Holmes announced Tuesday that his office has completed its review of the April 7 death of Kerry Alan Pinder, 44, of Culver while incarcerated at the Marshall County Jail. The investigation was conducted by the Indiana State Police and the Marshall County Coroner, with the cooperation of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.

Seven arrested for manufacturing meth

May 22, 2013

PLYMOUTH — Seven people were arrested Tuesday morning after law enforcement officers served a search warrant.

The house was located in the 700 block of Oak Hill Drive, within 1,000 feet from Menominee Elementary School.

Arrested were: Jason P. Kennedy, 36; Joseph J.R. Garrison, 33; Lisa A. Mitchell, 40; Jamie Sullivan, 42; Maggie J. Garrison, 30; Amanda R. Miller, 26; and Tonia E. Flowers, 38. All those arrested, with the exception of Flowers, lived at the Oak Hill residence. Flowers’ is from Mishawaka, Ind.

Commercial wind farms prohibited from Marshall County

May 20, 2013

Marshall County Commissioners voted unanimously to prohibit commercial and large wind energy systems at their meeting Monday morning.

This has been an ongoing issue for Commissioners for about a year.

Also under consideration was an ordinance that imposed strict restrictions, in lieu of a ban. That resolution passed last month and will apply to smaller operations.
