Kids bowl free

June 8, 2012

PLYMOUTH — Since 2010, Quick’s Lanes in Plymouth has offered free bowling for children every day during the summer months. John Reed of Quick’s Lanes said that 698 children have already signed up for this year.
“Some families may not be able to afford to take all the kids bowling, and it’s a fun, safe thing to do,” explained Reed. “This is our way of giving back to the community for the 30-plus years they’ve supported us.”

Argos stops adding fluoride to town water

June 8, 2012

ARGOS — Argos joined the ranks of other local communities Bourbon, North Liberty, and Walkerton Wednesday night when town council members voted to stop adding fluoride to the town’s water supply.
“The council had been given information, both pro and con (on adding fluoride to public water) about a week before (the meeting),” said Nick Wood, Argos water superintendent Thursday. “Last night I officially took that to the board, to discontinue fluoridation of our town water here.”
