PLYMOUTH â€”Â Goshen-based Malibu Tanning plans to open their first Marshall County salon during late July or early August. The salon will be located at 1913 N. Michigan St., Suite 3, near Family Video and Kroger.
Office administrator Jessica Frederick said that a manager for the new store has already been hired, and the company will begin searching for staff locally in a few weeks. They will need about five employees to staff the salon. Frederick noted that employees must be at least 18 years old.
BREMEN â€”Â The town of Bremen is going ahead with a public fireworks display on July 4 as a part of their annual Bremen Firemenâ€™s Festival. Rich Martin, Bremen director of operations, indicated that they have a number of safety measures planned including watering down the field in Sunnyside Park two hours before the 10:30 p.m. fireworks display. Martin said the town has 13 pieces of fire apparatus that will be on hand and they expect most, if not all, of the 28 volunteers and 10 substitute firefighters to be at the event.
He said, â€śThe wooded area nearby is green and cooled.â€ť
PLYMOUTH â€”Â Andrew Sporner, a Plymouth native, grew up passing by the Hoham-Klinghammer-Weckerle house at 1715 Lake Avenue often, and he always dreamed of buying it someday.
â€śI fell in love with it when I was five years old,â€ť said Sporner, who did purchase the home in 2010. â€śSomething about the way it looked kind of grabbed me.â€ť
